Twist & Shout Diamonds

I'm gonna be honest. I hate it. The music, the theme. The routine itself is good, but I just can't with the the music and theme.
This was my face the entire time:

Thoughts:

1. If COVID has impeded their ability to practice I certainly could not tell. They look like 2019 season just ended. Crazy good.

2. I live for that center tilt in the first stunt - but I can't tell what everyone else is doing in that sequence. I think they intentionally left it out maybe?

3. Their tumbling difficulty impresses me every year. Consistently some of the most difficult standing tumbling in the division.

4. They routinely have some of the prettiest baskets.

5. This elite is significantly more difficult than the 19/20 elite. Like.

6. General comment - actually starting to miss double downs. They are not necessarily needed to hit scoresheet, I know - but a lot of Worlds teams are opting for non-twisting or just straight down dismounts lately.

This is going to be an interesting season for sure!

Fun fact about me: I often think about Stars’ tumbling sections if I can’t sleep. There’s something about their BHS fulls that are. So. *******. Soothing.

Generals look fantastic. Interesting lack of masks and social distancing. Teams of kids are lined up alongside the mat and it looks like there's a good number of spectators. I'd be curious to know how many Covid cases they have among their families. They seem to be taking a gamble here. I wonder if Texas in general is nonchalant about the virus or kind of becoming numb to it.

If people truly social distanced and followed the rules now, maybe we could be mostly over this by April and actually get to have an in-person Worlds. But I'm not sure how seriously different parts of the country are taking the virus, which will probably prolong the agony.
