South Carolina is doing great. practices like normal with no masks. Competing with no masks. state championships next weekend, then the seasons over. The one thing that's shows It is covid like is the comps. They r on a schedule where like 3 teams compete, that leave. Fans come by session. Awards are virtual.

CA here... school cheer? What school cheer? We don’t have school cheer
I can second that. It's been depressing and demoralizing.

The state just released the sports guidance about an hour ago.

Outdoor and Indoor Youth and Recreational Adult Sports

It references "cheerleading" but I assume that means STUNT because sideline/spirit cheer is not regulated by CIF. But then again, neither is Dance Team and they are mentioned. My takeaway is that in the purple tier, spirit cheer would have to be like the dance team: no stunting, and only dance 6 feet apart. Like a pom pom squad. At a track meet. If the school allows it.

NY had changed the date 3 times for winter sports(which cheerleading is in NY), before deciding to cancel them all together. I totally get the depressing feeling:(

AZ is drastically different from district to district, our government hasn't made any mandates and so AIA (our high school sport governing body) is calling the shots. The only major rule they have is no crowds/spectators whatsoever for winter sports, and the winter sport season got pushed back to start in January (original start date is always the week of Thanksgiving). State Qualifiers were moved from October to January as well and are (currently) set to be held in person, though also without a crowd. TBH the season is sort of a wash, we only got to cheer at home football games this year (of which there were two) and it's looking like both comp and basketball might not be happening. I know other states have it worse and others have it better, so we're just sort of in this limbo of indecisiveness that makes it hard to plan things. Mostly I feel bad for my seniors, I have a lot of them this year.

I am incredibly blessed that here in SC, we are getting very close to a normal season. There have been teams that have to pul out because they have girls that r close contacts that are quarantined, which is heartbreaking to watch. All the hard work for what? But we have been able to have in-person comps, with limited spectators. Spectators wear a mask, the athletes however don't practice or compete in them. The state comp is this weekend. While the season was shortened a lot, we ended up being very blessed.

So cheerleading (do you mean spirit/sideline cheer or competitive?) is completely cancelled for the whole rest of the year?

School cheerleading. I should have specified. School cheerleading is competitive in NYS so I never think to differentiate, sorry. Essentially. They’ve “postponed” almost all winter sports...postponed as in giving no date this time around after postponing 3 times previously.

I wish you had better news. I hope your seniors enjoy whatever they can get this year:(

High school cheer in MA is non-existent so far. Fall season cancelled. Winter season cancelled. Maybe Fall II which will be Feb-April when football happens---not really sure how that will happen. Today we got 12+ inches of snow. Are we not planning on snow from February-April?????? Competitive cheer from winter season has moved to the spring (late April-Jul 3). I am not holding my breath. And my 2 play lacrosse also, so they'll need to pick one or the other. Extremely sad for my two who are senior captains. Luckily, their team went to NCA last year. Still makes me sad, though. And what makes me madder is that NH who we border with had fall cheer and virtual competitions and now is having winter cheer. Why can't MA figure it out?????
