And 3 day pass

Back in 2018, there was a NYT article that stated Disney was going to spend $24 billion in the next five years on new attractions, hotels and ships <article>. It talks about their television business having challenges in the streaming age, so they're going to invest in new attractions. Then, it goes on to state it's a huge financial risk and talks about increased security because it could become a ghost town if a violent event occurred. In 2018 and 2019, Disney does a new ticket format and increases prices. <article> Pandemic hits and Disney loses $6.9 billion from parks being closed.

It's definitely going to be interesting to see what goes on with travel, pricing and attendance these next few years.

Yeah the general schedule overview for Worlds has been posted for quite a while now (it just says what days teams will compete, no estimates of times). It doesn't seem that hard to at least post something about Summit. But they probably don't care about parents' schedules/planning and hope everyone books the max 4-night hotel stay due to the uncertainty of the schedule lol.
Where is the schedule for Worlds posted?

Why still no schedule or block schedule for Summit? Will it definitely go ahead in person? It's hard to try to plan any fun when you have no idea when your child is competing.

I don't think we're going to Disney parks this time. Might go to Universal. Where can I buy ESPN tickets for me & lil sis?

it's definitely gonna be in person. It's 18 days till have to be down there for my teams. There's no way they could cancel it and make it virtual this close to the completion without having to figure out how to return a lot of money and face backlash from a lot of people

It will be on line closer to comp. UCA tickets has to be purchased prior to going.

I genuinely cannot think of a rational reason for why, at the very LEAST, at least a block schedule isn't up yet other than Varsity needs to secure more hotel rooms to meet their contract numbers with Disney, and the easiest way to do so is to not inform them on when their kids are performing so they book for all four nights. I've thought this over a lot and with every bid competition other than (I believe) UCA having completed at this point, there's no way they don't have an idea of who is attending and what the schedule is going to look like.

And here I was complaining about Worlds, where at least we have the block schedule to go by (though an extremely vague one, at that). Suddenly my problems seem miniscule, compared to Summit parents.

In 2019 the block schedule was posted on April 5. I went back and checked. We are a whole week later now. Hopefully very soon!

Oh they know. We had to be registered by a certain date. And currently team changes can be made (such as changing rosters) but by April 20th there will be a $50 fine for any changes. ::Looks at calendar:: they most definitely know the teams and divisions that are registered so that's not what is preventing them from posting a block schedule. As a Summit parent, this is very frustrating.

On another note, can someone refresh my memory on the likelihood of international teams being at Summit? If I recall there were some countries that weren't able to practice. TIA

There's a travel ban right now because of covid so I don't think there will be any international teams.

Highly unlikely. I'm in the UK and our teams are only just now back to being allowed to train outside. My team hasn't had any training since before Christmas and even then we were only open for about 10 weeks since the previous lockdown.
