at least going to the parks is not an option for most people who paid for the hoppers - including the athletes who were required to, so you don't have to plan going to a park around your compete time :confused:

Not sure if you saw it, but USASF did send out an email that allows you to still book park tickets on days that are filled with reservations (my guess is they're tapping into the 'annual passholder' slots that are available), you just don't get to pick the park and sort of get shoved wherever they have an opening.

Worlds customers who have been challenged in making Disney Park Pass reservations on dates without available reservations only may take the following steps in consideration of securing a Disney Park Pass, if available (subject to change).

  1. In your My Disney Experience App, please engage the Chat With Us function, and message the word 'USASF'.
    • Guests MUST have their tickets and reservations linked PRIOR to reaching out. Please have all information readily available related to tickets and reservations from Worlds.
    • The chat feature cannot be used to purchase additional or new Theme Park Tickets.
    • This service is to book NEW Park reservations only. You will not be able to modify your current Park reservation.
  2. A Disney agent will respond and determine if there is availability in any Park on sold out dates and make a reservation if applicable.
    • Guests should only request reservations for what is actually needed for their traveling party.
    • Guests should try to secure any Park that is available for their reservation.
    • If you are unable to get into the Park of your choice, you may be able to park hop after 2:00 PM EST– provided that you first enter the Park for which you have a reservation.
    • Park reservation availability changes frequently, so check back often.
  3. If available, the agent will confirm, and the reservation will appear on your MDX account.
Not ideal but, at least they're doing something - a lot of kids on my team just paid off their accounts this past week and were unable to make reservations through Disney, but followed these steps and were able to get in. Hope that helps!

Performance Order is out! They ended up splitting IOCNT6 because of how many teams were enrolled, and it was apparently purely random (not based on size/name/gym).

The Cheerleading Worlds | Event Schedule

Has Worlds ever split divisions before?

I feel like some divisions were pretty deep in the past like Small All Girl and SCoed and they never split A/B.

So instead of top 3 per country there are technically 6 and there will be 2 World champs in IOCNT?

Wow.

They really needed to split NT into small and large this year!

Yes they used to regularly split small senior and small coed.
They will merge as one division, not two.

And there is no per country rule this year as its all US teams, its just top 10.

I think it just makes it easier to manage for the Prelim Round, judging 30ish teams against each other instead of all 65. They used to do this back when the Small divisions had 70-80 teams. And then it would merge back into 1 division for the Semi-Finals. Of course, when it's a random split into A and B, there's no way to make the two halves exactly even in terms of playing field, which is one drawback of it. There almost always ends up being a "stronger" half. But at least the division isn't split for Finals.

It's kind of concerning that the NT division is so big and you worry some of these small gyms might give up on tumbling classes all together if all they can field is a NT team anyway. But some of these teams might go back to a tumbling division once things get back to normal and it's only 3 teams per country advancing out of the Intl divisions again.

I do not see this happening.

Classes and privates generate more $ for gyms than teams do.

There will always be tumbling classes.

I hope you're right! Sure there will always be tumbling classes, but if Random Allstars D2 gym continues to only field a NT Worlds team, what's the incentive for those athletes to keep taking tumbling privates except if they need the tumbling for college. I think it's important these divisions remain International/3 per country so that the NT route doesn't become more of the norm for small gyms. Please continue tumbling everyone lol.

I see it happening already. All of those NT teams had a pool of athletes who consistently were in tumbling classes and privates, and they no longer are since there is no need. I also get the impression (I could be wrong) that the NT format is being encouraged to become standard. It will be interesting to see what happens during the next 3-5 years.

@quitthedrama I wonder if that varies by state/region. I know lots of kids on non-tumble world teams and huge majority here are still working on tumbling in classes and/or privates because they know tumbling matters for high school cheer, hopes to eventually cheer on a tumbling worlds team, and/or Cheer in College.
