I thought that was weird, but they were listed on their official grid so I just went with it.

The Cheerleading Worlds | Divisions
They were added last year and were supposed to be new at 2020 Worlds. But all of those divisions are not offered in the US, so it would only be non-US teams. Which this worlds is only US teams, so there won't be any teams in those divisions.

I refuse to predict anything because I swear it jinxes it. That and Worlds be crazy.

But I can tell you what I would like to see happen & some divisions I am interested in watching!

I think Coed Elite has great choreo to compete in Small and I would like to see them globe in the division.

Interested in the usual Smoed/BSB/Midnight and how that shakes out.

Swoosh broke my heart not making finals and I was not okay so I would like to see them globing as well.

I think NTAll Girl 6 is going to be interesting this year too. The last in person NCA, Lady Lux and Lady Aurora were (this close) and the division has only gotten better.

A globe for Medium Gens (or maybe they already have one, it's been a whole year)

I want to see how Medium F5 does too.

I did not get to see WE Gunsmoke go to Worlds and I recall being super impressed by them.

I think everyone in LAG6 is hungry for different reasons. I think SE and Orange have both gone a long time without winning it. I hate predicting it at all but I do think WCSS has the routine to repeat if it hits I have also been super impressed by Panthers and they are peaking for sure at the right time. You can't count anyone out so we shall see.

Just happy it's happening.

Agree with a lot of this. Gens have a bronze globe in medium, but from 2012.

Are the awards working similar to Summit (virtually?)

Staying up late on Worlds Sunday for a video of team names on a screen just doesn't feel the same as watching actual awards ceremonies.

I never thought I would miss that annoying weekend highlight video being played before every session.

I like to do it if only because it helps me get my thoughts in a row. There have definitely been more than a few years where I've rooted for two teams to win only to realize they're in the same division during the live stream.

Plus I think this year's takes will be very interesting, especially re: teams in states with tougher COVID restrictions. For example, I'm really debating how CA's handling of the pandemic affected Cali gyms. On the one hand, logic would tell me not to put any money on any CA-based Cali teams because we've been on lockdown for months. And to that end, Smoed, Rangers, and Reckless have not had as much success this year as they have in the past. The only Cali team really dominating right now is Vixens, and they're in AZ.

On the other hand, all three teams come from powerhouse programs. So maybe now that restrictions have eased, at least maybe Rangers and Reckless can pull out the win (I think we all know that BSB is taking it over Smoed).

Aren't awards Monday? It is Sat-Mon this year....I'd assume virtual like Summit.

For what it's worth, their Summit teams (many from California locations) looked pretty good last weekend. Lot of Summit Champs, Top 3, Top 10s, finalists.

I'll miss seeing the actual awards ceremonies too. There's supposed to be a detailed awards schedule posted at "a later date", but we're 3 days from Worlds and I haven't seen anything yet. The virtual awards for Summit looked kinda sad, kids crowded around an ipad or phone in the middle of a barely lit field somewhere--- kind of like any ordinary virtual comp this year. Considering small bits of the Worlds awards usually make the TV broadcast, they must be doing something nicer, but who knows. I could think of ways to set up a nice outdoor socially distanced awards ceremony. You could at least get one of those giant movie screens to play the video. You'd only need to have the 10 Finalist teams in each division in the area at a time, and there are far fewer divisions than Summit. It would take work to make it happen, but it wouldn't be impossible to create a somewhat normal awards experience.
