I've patiently waited for 2 days for an update, but no one has mentioned anything. Did anyone attend? What was discussed? Any hot and heavy topics?

Orson told me all about what was discussed but to be honest, I'm not totally sure I am at liberty to openly discuss it. I can tell you they discussed cheating at length and athlete I.D.'s. They also discussed how the performance order at worlds was going to be handled this year . . . :thumbs down:

Acedad was there. Maybe he can shed some light on what the specifics were . . . :)

I'm not sure anyone is obligated to report anything. And I'm not sure anyone was at liberty to tell anyone what was discussed.

However, a summary will be printed in the May First Friday.

Some people have lives outside of cheerleading and are not required to report to you or anyone else!

This was really unnecessary Cheer2win. Very disappointing to read this, especially after serving on the PAC with your husband ACEDAD for 2 years.

If I said anything out of line, I apologize! I had no idea those meetings were so top secret. I will be contacting Orson and apologizing for opening my big mouth!! I am an employee that works directly with him on a regular basis so I'm sure he felt talking with me was safe. If I had realized how secretive it was supposed to be, I would never had said anything. I didn't think it was a big deal. And to be honest Acedad, I discussed this in an email with you and you never gave me any indication that it was something that needed to be kept private. It would have been quite thoughtful of you to maybe let me know THEN that the topics were not supposed to have been discussed with me. You certainly didn't seem to mind that I knew about it then. And once you did see this topic, you could have PM'd me and let me know that I shouldn't have posted that. I would have respectfully asked the admin to take it down.

cheer2win, I don't believe I said he was REQUIRED to tell us anything! Please don't put words in my mouth. I simply suggested that maybe he would shed some light on the issues if he wanted to. I don't believe I demanded he do anything. I could care less if Acedad tells me anything. I don't need his "knowledge and intelligence" to get through my day. I only said that because he is usually the first person to come on the boards and tell everyone what is going on. He is, by the way, known as the "most informative poster". I was just going with that. But not to worry, I will NEVER ask of his assistance again. I've learned my lesson...sheesh

You know, I just went to a funeral today for a dad of a girl my girls cheer with. She is 10 years old and lost her dad. She will live the rest of her life without him. This was the last thing I needed to come home to. I just want you both to know that. My post was not intended to make Acedad feel obligated to share anything or even to reply. I feel like both of your responses were intentionally mean. I really just did not need that right now. While I lay awake all night worried sick that I did something wrong, I'll have plenty of time to pray for this little girl and her family I guess. But thanks for making my terrible day even worse...

McLovin, my sympathies for the little girl and family.

When I was emailing you, I was sharing things with you because you were a member of the PAC at the time. Just like Orson shared some things with you as an employee of T&S.

I'll not be continuing this lest we get voted best catfight. People that know me personally or just through messages on the boards will just have to judge for themselves.

No catfight here Acedad, I'm too exhausted to try. I'm just hurt. And I have emailed Orson to rectify my mistake. I can only hope I didn't make him look bad for sharing with me. He is a great guy and a great advocate for this sport. I wouldn't want to do anything to mess that up. God knows my heart and my true intentions.

So I finally got my update that I was waiting for! I'll post it here for everyone.

"April 13, 2010

The April 6 meeting of the USASF National Advisory Board produced what many are calling a giant leap forward, as they approved the following recommendations for consideration by the USASF Board of Directors.

The NAB recommended that a system to accurately track athlete participation be developed as soon as possible in order to eventually help assure that roster and eligibility requirements are being met at USASF sanctioned events. It was suggested that this program could possibly be established as early as the 2011/2012 season.

Additionally, after much discussion the NAB is recommending that further concrete steps be taken to make certain that athletes are properly insured should they be injured while participating at USASF events or while they are in the gym.

Also, the NAB recommended a professional responsibility code for gym owners and an enforcement strategy and a campaign to improve sportsmanship guidelines for coaches, athletes and parents.

I believe that these recommendations and the actions that will inevitably be taken to implement them will not only advance the legitimacy and stature of our sport, but also help ensure that the USASF and its gyms, event producers and athlete members participate in a safe and responsibly way.

My congratulations and appreciation go out to those members of the NAB who donated their time to participate in this important meeting.

This is all I was looking for.....the hot topics!! Nothing secret or undercover lol. Anyway, I'm SOOO glad to hear the athlete tracking system has been taken one step further from these boards and has actually been recommended. I cannot tell you how excited that makes me! Mclovin and I have been discussing how something like this could benefit the industry for a couple years now :). I really think this will change our industry for the better in so many ways.

Establishing the system by the 2011/2012 season seems about right to me. I wonder if they will explore the RFDI (?) system that Kingston proposed?

Looks like some positive things for cheer! It really is interesting to be on the growth end of an industry and see the changes that will make it better.

Wow that didn't take long at all to come out! I just want to say thank you to all of our NAB board members for their time and for their willingness to help push this industry to a higher standard!!
