We all know the off-season is a little slow here on the boards. So lets have a little fun and catch up on some cheer history at the same time. Feel free to toot your own horn!
:tootmyhorn:

I want you to fill in the blank.
"______ was the first person(or team) to ___________"

Examples:
Gym Tyme/Louisville was the first team to do an Awesome
Top Gun was the first team to do a kick double

Here are some other fun ideas to post....
_____ was the first person to ever step foot on a worlds mat
_____ was the first person to compete a double full
_____ was the first girl to compete a standing full
_____ was the first team to have squad standing tucks at competition
_____ was the first team to ever get an NCA jacket
_____ was the first person to shimmy in a show and go
_____ was the first team to do tucks to splits

The possibilities are endless. So whether you want to create a fun category that you can fit into, or if you want to provide us all with a little known fact, this is the place to do it. Remember, have fun while keeping my thread polite and respectful.

I think it was Matt but I could be wrong.

I thought it was the guy from Cheer Athletics that was on Wildcats this year (who is in his 30s) He was talking about something to that effect on the NCA TV Broadcast.

So you are saying I wasn't the first 30 year old to compete at worlds???

You're talking about Chris Muniz, I thought maybe he competed the first standing double back in the day on Cheetahs, but I'm not sure

Depends how old you are... Haven't you competed the past 3 years? If so you may win that. Cause i think Chris is only 31 or 32... which means 3 years ago, he wasn't 30 yet and you might have been.

Some Fun facts
-Memphis State University was the first team to Win an NCA College National Title... Memphis State eventually became University of Memphis... They no longer compete at NCA

- HPU has the most consecutive NCA college national titles (after this year they are at 8)

- In 1988, the Gulf Breeze Sports Association from Gulf Breeze, FL was the first team to win an NCA nationals title.

- Star Athletics and World Cup are the only NJ teams to have won an NCA all-star nationals title

kevin was the first toe double

you didn't fill in the blanks correctly :eye roll:
haha, its ok, im over it

Kevin was the first person to *compete* a toe double
Someone had probably done one previously.

Elite cheer michigan was the first team from Michigan to compete at worlds (2006)
Michigan Extreme was the first Michigan gym to bring 2 teams to worlds ( jr all girl, and large sr limited coed)
Trilogy was the first gym in michigan that had a Sr all girl team earn a bid to worlds

Chris Muniz is not even 30 yet lol! He is only 27 turning 28 and There was only one guy on our team who was 30 turning 31 and he only can do a full lol so someone is confused!

Ok. So I competed at age 30 this year. Anyone before me compete at worlds over the age of 30?
