Small Senior (20 Athletes all girls)
Small Coed ( 20 Athletes 4 boys max)

Large Senior (36 athletes[sic] all girl)
Large Coed (36 athletes[sic] 12 boys max)

Small divisions have less boys. Large divisions have more boys. only 4 divisions total. Thoughts?

I feel like that would be taking it back to the whos who in cheerleading. I mean, those are your top teams in the world and the divisions most people get excited for. I wouldnt hate it, but then I wouldnt get to see open 6 divisions which I actually really enjoy.

I agree, I think if you just had only 4 divisions, then the gyms who come out on top would then be the ones classifyed as the best, rather than having the diverse amount of gyms we have now.
And also then it limits people who are in Int Open teams, Level 6 teams (etc). Sometimes I feel there needs to be less divisions than there are now but no the the extent where there is only 4. It dosn't allow for EVERYONE to have a go, if you get me?

im not sure you can have it both ways. less divisions so there is more prestige and competition... but more divisions so everyone has a chance.

perhaps leave the open divisions alone (or leave for another day). What if those were the club divisions. Just getting rid of 2 of the 6 to leave 4?

Im going to have to say I still like the idea of only having 4 divisions. The best in the world, going head to head. I still think you have nationals like NCA and Cheersport to battle out your open divisions.

Well if I couldn't have it both ways i'd rather keep it as it is now, I mean if you think about it, there are enough teaqms competeing in the divisions at worlds to fill up each division.

An idea I do like though is the whole "best of the best competeing together" thing, kinda, but I don't know where i'm gonig with this or who it would be done ethier. I mean how can anyone truely be the best in the world unless they have a team for every single division anyway, no one gym can be defined as the best in the world, only in a certain divison.

I don't know, I think ultimatly it would make it MUCH easier to follow but could also take away a lot of reward for other "smaller" teams that may usually place in top 5...

Ahh.
I'm contradicting myself in my head with this one really.

I think having less divisions would make all wins more prestigious AND placing top 5 more prestigious. Lets face it, top 10 in small senior means something. Top 10 in Large senior means you just competed (because there are fewer teams). 4 big name divisions means more teams per division. And right now Unlimited is dying and to some extent so is large senior. This would re-energize both.

Yeah I see the pro's for it.
I feel like there should be:

Small Senior All Girl,
Small Senior Coed,

Large Senior All Girl
Large Senior Coed,

Int Open Coed 5 & 6

It makes for 6 divisions, and allows for the possiblity of Int Opens being shown at the milkhouse for prelims & finals, rather than them being shoved at Epcot every year and then you have to give up your seat to go see one of the int open teams preform.

I think it's a good idea really, I think the change would scare a lot of people but if they put it into practise for a year or two and see how it went I think it would give back good feedback.

Unlimited is on its last legs anyway. It would just be Large Limited that would have to change.

It would actually MORE push out the international divisions because of so many teams in so few divisions. And besides 1 or 2 teams those are not the same as all the others. I do believe those should not be at the milk house (though it was fun competing there! dont get me wrong)

the international divisions should probably go away anyway, and just have an all girl 6 and coed 6. 6 divisions. International teams can enter them.

oh, and make those international divisions max 20 people (12 boys max for the coed) might as well make it easy for college teams to take their routine to worlds

But that means once you're over 18 you can't compete at worlds, as the limit for level 5 & 6 teams that are just "senior ____ (coed)" are 18, but international open teams allow for over 18, which is somthing that I feel strongly about. I feel the age limits are stupid in the first place, and it would suck to say as soon as you hit 18 you can't compete at worlds anymore.

The international divisopns need to be there anyway because then you're hurting teams from the UK and all over the world saying they can't compete at worlds, which is what they work for.

And I disagree with the Milkhouse. It's the main stage for the cheer worlds, with less divisions there should be more time avaible and if it allows the int open teams (or level 6 coed & all girls) should be allowed to have prelims and finals in the milkhouse. It's fairer on them and on fans.

I think that the All Girl 6 and Coed 6 would be for 18 and up.... that is how level 6 is now at other nationals etc

And He said that teams from other countries could enter those divisions so how would that be hurting UK teams?

I like this idea for the club divisions. But I would HATE to see the international divisions go. ESPECIALLY int coed 5. Which IMO was one of the most competitive divisions at worlds and continues to grow, as well as int all girl.
