The two highest scores of the competition were actually our Semi-Limited and Intl squads. We understand the business decisions behind not being able to give the only two paid bids to the same gym and the i5 team has plenty of opportunities between here and Worlds to secure a bid so we will survive.

We also don't accept at large bids because were confident that the teams and routines we produce are fully capable of getting paid bids throughout the season, so why take away the chance to experience World's from a team who would fully utilize an at large bid?

Remember once you upgrade a bid now they no longer transfer to the next team in line...the bid just gets tossed out.

Congrats Ga and to all the other teams who worked hard to put out the caliber of routines we witnessed this weekend...should be one hell of a season ;-)

Thank you for explaining this so eloquently. People are spazzing out left and right over teams not getting bids. It's essentially the 2nd weekend of the season. Calm.the.freak.down.people. There are plenty of other opportunities for everyone else to get bids.

I think it's very classy for established programs to tell the event producers up front that they will only accept paid bids. This allows the at large bids to go to an up-and-coming gym that realistically couldn't get a paid bid, but the at-large will be a great boost to their gym.

Top Gun Semi.....LOVE LOVE LOVE when they do the cartwheel over the girl and pick her right up into a flatback! So creative.

Many thanks to ASC from my family, not only for last year but also giving us the opportunity to compete for a bid this year. Hats off to Top Gun for many great teams, they deserved the bid, and really maybe both of them. Georgia was great to us, good friends and we cannot be happier for their deserved bid, regardless of the divisions the two best teams competing this weekend got the bids. No doubt. As for SE, we cannot expect to win bids leaving the right side of the pyramid on the ground for 8 counts. However, there was a lot of growth for SE from Day 1 to Day 2 and from the Showcase to yesterday. We are ecstatic, and feel certain our bid will come sooner rather than later. Thanks to our fans for the support, kind comments and we look forward to seeing everyone we can in the upcoming competitions. On to Indy. Looks like great fun for all.

honestly, besides smokes stunts their entire routine was perfect and had a better day 1. its a 50 50 comp, and performance matters a lot there. other than stunts their performance was overall better than AE for the whole weekend on average.
i think ae did great they should of won. its bc its stringrays home town. anyways ae is like the only team and the whole team hits tick tocks

as much as you or anyone else likes to believe major programs have an advantage, we dont. and routines are not just about stunts, there may be 6 or 7 other categories on the scoresheet.

I was excited to see TG's routine...can I just say that even if the girls are doing fulls, they are BEAUTIFUL. The perfection before progression aspect they've undertaken at the gym is really showing in their tumbling. I love them in semi..I feel it shows their team's versatility as a whole, proving they're not just a boy-tumbling-and-lots-of-creativity-gym. Love. Great showing by all winners..

I lovee top guns routine and its already so clean!

Very excited to see TG and their creative style! Kartwheel pick up, nice... but ? for anyone that knows? How do they make the tumbling under a elevator legal bc I have been trying to figure out a way for two years now?!!! LOL! Someone let me know Please!

looking back i think it was just a visual stepping under the elevator and when cleared from under the stunt she tumbled... Awesome Visual!!!! Great job TG!

For the record, those girls at Top Gun could ALWAYS tumble. Now that there are 24 girls and 12 boys (on Semi), it would only make sense to put more girls in the tumbling.

I ADORE that TG has perfect, clean tumbling. They tumble properly; with skill, form and technique. It shows that Victor and Kristen don't allow, nor promote, "just chuck it so you'll have it for the comp. not only does it look 1000xs better, but it's safer for the athletes and their bodies will hold up better.

Just to clarify a few things about TG Semi. Out of the 24 girls on the team, 20 of them throw doubles, but as many have pointed out, Victor will not allow them to throw it unless it is spot on. This early in the season, there's no reason to risk injury or deductions when they can throw fulls and still compete for a world bid. This is classic Victor coaching... no need to throw something just to throw it. Better to have a beautiful clean routine than a messy one that chances injury. It is still very VERY early in the season. I5 had three injuries alone in this weekends competition. Alternates had to fill in because of the injuries. This is the reason behind the mindset... and I think it makes all the sense in the world. After all, it's a LONG season!

All the teams really showed hard work this weekend and it was really fun to watch. We can only expect everyone to get better and cleaner as the season goes on!! It will surely be another very competitive year in many of the divisions and it will be so fun for all of us who are true lovers of the sport to watch it all unfold. Great work all!!!
