The two highest scores of the competition were actually our Semi-Limited and Intl squads. We understand the business decisions behind not being able to give the only two paid bids to the same gym and the i5 team has plenty of opportunities between here and Worlds to secure a bid so we will survive.
We also don't accept at large bids because were confident that the teams and routines we produce are fully capable of getting paid bids throughout the season, so why take away the chance to experience World's from a team who would fully utilize an at large bid?
Remember once you upgrade a bid now they no longer transfer to the next team in line...the bid just gets tossed out.
Congrats Ga and to all the other teams who worked hard to put out the caliber of routines we witnessed this weekend...should be one hell of a season ;-)
Thank you for explaining this so eloquently. People are spazzing out left and right over teams not getting bids. It's essentially the 2nd weekend of the season. Calm.the.freak.down.people. There are plenty of other opportunities for everyone else to get bids.
I think it's very classy for established programs to tell the event producers up front that they will only accept paid bids. This allows the at large bids to go to an up-and-coming gym that realistically couldn't get a paid bid, but the at-large will be a great boost to their gym.
