I don't think the judging has been unfair. The panels are scoring the same. One might be a lower scoring panel, but they're all judging the same things. As long as they're in range of each other, there's no big deal. It would be much harder to get scoring right if there's 25 in a division than the splits they have now. One panel has no effect on another. It doesn't hurt the teams chances at getting a bid being in one division over the other.

I want to stand up and clap for this post.

I just watched aviator all stars large coed 4... they were a very good team but i'm a little confused as to how they won when they have something illegal in their pyramid? In level 4 you're supposed to be braced by both sides when you do a flip right?
Yes, if you're not braced on both sides it would be illegal

You need two bracers but no where does it say that can't both be on the same side/body part. Way to push it, Aviator.

I am on dartfish watching the mini and youth teams. It is fustrating that not all the teams video's are there. In particular, I was looking for First Class Athletics, Youth 2 Large and I can't find a video. I also did not find a couple other teams. :-(

I'm trying to find someone that can assist with this. While it's possible that a team was missed, it's also possible that an upload was just overlooked. It's also possible that the video has actually been mislabeled. So we'll see if we can find someone that might be able to track it down. Will you do me a favor and send me a PM with the team(s) that are missing, the division, the hall and times they performed each day?

Part of the issue IMHO relates to the "system" itself. If your team already has a Full Paid Bid to Worlds and you are competing at a Competition like Cheersport where teams are attempting to get Full Paid bids--unless those teams completely bomb their routines both days--the Competition Sponser will find a way to "score" those teams so that they will either win the division or end up in second place bumping your team down.

If your team doesn't do well then everything is fine and you have nothing to quote unquote complain about.

Unfortunately, if your team does do well and in some cases did do extremely well--you cannot help but leave the competititon feeling sick to your stomach about the entire weekend. You also cannot help but wonder what the outcome does to a teams mindset.

No matter what, there still is room in the score sheets to add subjectivity into the scores which can and does play a role into the outcome of the competition. This did occur this weekend and was more evident in some divisions more than others.

I do not see it so much as a "judging" issue but rather as a "system" issue because of the bids and unfortunately, not everyone can feel good about what transpired.

Do I think there is a "fix" for this--no--it is what it is--just felt the need to state my opinion from a long, long time cheer parent who cannot leave Atanta feeling good about this weekend.

yeah, definitely :(

And I agree with the person who said we shouldn't call out individual children and ask if their stunt fell. But honestly, if those close to a child (family/teammates) put her name out there for all to know, what can you expect? Other kids may look for this specific child in her routine and really be interested in knowing if SHE hits or misses (as opposed to simply caring if the team itself hits or misses). I doubt the person who asked if this child's stunt fell meant any harm.

Agreed. I have put her out there for years so I expected to read about it on the boards and am not upset about it. Falls happen! It's all good :) Onward to Dallas!
