actually pro spirit is an amazing club and their owners were owners of the year in 2010...jeff miller has an amazing club.... they haven't disappeared in the least:)))
They're definately still around. I feel that a good chunk of the teams are younger now though compared to when they completely over ran competitions back in the good old days (03-04) lol. The senior teams are mostly in the small divisions now but they are spewing with youth and mini talent!

power is most definitely still up and running, successfully! love to watch them here at comps in cali!:)

I forget the name but i think it's River City? Something along those lines. Their senior 5 was awesome!
Miami Elite- I know they were "coming back" this year, but did it happen?
Premier TN- I know this is the first year without them, but I miss Pumas :(

Elite Cheer and Dance of Miami is still around, but bringing back the Miami Elite name ran into some obstacles and didn't end up sticking.

ps kind of on another note but can someone explain the whole ice ordeal? i'm probably real behind on this, but i know that some indiana gym from circa 07 or 08 was switched to illinois cheer co. for some reason and now i guess they were turned into ice aswell?

ICE athletics was opened in 2003 (not related to ICE of Indiana) and in 2007 or 2008 they were sued for the name and became The Illinois Cheer Company. There was an issue with the owner in January of this year and the owner of ICE in Indiana ended up coming in and taking over the gym so all the teams could stay together.

POWER is definitely still up and running! Their premier level 5 team is now intl all girl and theyre amazing! And with the huge success of their large senior 4 this season I'm sure we'll be seeing them in the senior 5 division soon!

Just made a BIG ANNOUNCEMENT.

POWER will be opening it's 3rd location in Fresno at the end of the 10'-11' season.

What happened to Cheer Factory out of Richmond, VA? They used to come to the DC metro area and compete all time.

I used to be on Basics! lol it's still a gym, but as of this year no longer has any allstar teams. it's sort of because of the WV high school rule, it's actually a pretty long story. Brian, the owner/coach of Basics now co-owns Famous Superstars out of Charleston, WV. they have two coed level 5 teams I believe..

what governing body made this rule? i understand a high school team saying "you can't do all stars and this", because that is a personal rule for that team, but i can't think of any governing body that can make high school cheer and all star cheer have rules that involve each other.

i honestly don't like this at all, i played club lacrosse and school lacrosse (and all star cheer, but not really part of my point) in the spring all throughout high school, and there was never an issue. are there rules relating to other sports about doing 2 teams at once as well? or just cheering?

Unfortunately in the state of WV, cheerleading is considered a "Sport". Thus it falls in the guidelines of all high school sports that you cannot participate on two different teams at the same time during your season (and the earliest they will release cheerleaders from school season is December). School cheerleaders from grade 6-12 cannot do allstars and school at the same time. ALL schools in WV have to follow this rule - so it really hurts all-star cheerleading in WV because kids are made to choose. Most girls like to try school cheerleading at least once - and many of them do not go back to all-stars. Their skills begin to diminish because they aren't practicing the harder level stunts and tumbling, the cost for school is minimal compared to competing with all-stars, etc. Last year Ohio Valley was the ONLY team in cheer or dance at the Cheerleading Worlds representing WV.

Illinois is like this. Cheerleading is a sport so you can't compete with two teams at the same time. The same rule applies to all other sports... basketball, baseball, volleyball, etc. A lot of girls will only cheer during football season for their schools and then do all their competing with all-stars. Other kids join all-star teams once their HS competition season is over. Lots of gyms in IL are offering half-season teams now. There are lots of rules and regulations in regards to when and where high school teams can compete, what surface they can compete on, etc. I believe if someone on a high competition team is found competing with an all-star gym, the high school team can get sanctioned and not be eligible to compete at IHSA events.

Ohio Cheer Force.. I used to really love their program and then they just seemed to disappear I wanna say 2 seasons ago now?
