Dang. Two things really stuck out to me.

You gotta have squad majority Jump handspring flip (and maybe twist).

To score highest you have to have majority (so 6 couples) do an unassissted twist or flip into a stunt. Dang.

Execution and difficulty are combined in your rubric (meaning execution doesn't matter much).

Just looked at it. After watching Louisville's showcase this past weekend I can tell that they learned from last year as well as took in the scoresheet this year when it comes to stunting. Can't wait to see how all the other coed teams match up.

I am going to be QUITE interested how it all plays out actually.

The jump thing, btw, is stoopid.

Bleeeh, don't like that execution AND difficulty don't count for much. Execution should have it's own score, I'm tired of people who can barely toss target thinking it's okay to rewind. Come on now!

yeah i have been all over the score sheet (as i'm part of a college team coaching staff) and its very interesting to see some of the things they have come up with lol. So this week should be extremely interesting. We leave tomorrow Morning

Yeah i'm not a fan of the jump thing either. Not sure where they pulled that one from. At first it seemed like they were on the move to get rid of jumps and not it seems like they are back tracking and making them more important.

I think I get more excited for college nationals then worlds.

Goodluck to all the teams going. I will be sitting by my phone for updates all day thursday and friday.

The weird thing about the top stunt category is rewind awesome isn't worth anything. You have to entry to a body position. Awesomes only matter if you dismount from them.

Does that mean rewind immediate, or rewind-target-position? I personally think rewind immediates look much better then rewind awesome/target. My favorite is actually full-up immediate scorpion (non-torch grip).

Are you looking at this:

Seems max score is a rewind to one leg/one arm stunt, most having to be unassisted. Now, to keep this going....where in the world would hand to hands fall on that? It was pretty obvious that was the "in" thing at UCA. It will be interesting to see if anyone does them at NCA. I think the team that brings something new to the table in regards to hand to hands next year is going to be a strong contender.

I think it means for the life of the stunt you need flip, get caught, and do a body position OR do a flipping or twistin dismount from one arm stunt.

If your stunts are assisted caught they won't count. If you rewind awesome they won't count. If your hand to hand or front handspring up they won't count.

Interesting huh? I'm curious how strict they will go. Because a team that does double up awesome hand stretch double. Walk out front handspring up immediate arabesque front flip should NOT Max out.

Kingston- I think you may be reading this wrong. Lets break it down...

"This unassisted segment MUST include a flipping toss into an extended 1-leg AND/OR 1-arm stunt with a flipping or double twisting dismount. Any other stunt segment must be majority unassisted."

The first part is, "This unassisted segment MUST include a flipping toss into an extended 1-leg." So, this would mean a rewind land-in stretch, or bhs up land in stretch (both flipping into immediate). Notice no full ups in this category. Must be 6 stunts (if there are 20 people, that is).

The second part is a continuation of the first part in talking about the flipping mount- "AND/OR a 1-arm stunt" (as opposed to 1-leg). I interpret this as a rewind awesome, or bhs-up awesome.

The last part is for BOTH the first and second part, which means you must have a flipping dismount or a double down. So, you basically have to have a flipping mount (rewind/bhs-up), and it can either be into an immediate 1-leg (land-in) or 1-arm (awesome)- your choice. The last part should actually be another sentence, which is a bit confusing. It really should read, "both of these stunt options must include a flipping or double twisting dismount."

Does this make sense? I think you were combining the second and third part into one part, which would make rewind awesomes useless. I dont think thats what they intended, just not really grammatically efficient.

The definition of 'into' is where we have some disagreement, which would probably be cleared up at a coaches meeting (and too late to change then! hah). To me into means you need to do a flipping entry and while in the life of the stunt end up with an extended body position. They dont want rewind platform pop down. A common thing you see in allstar is 1 1/2 ups to platform, bump down. If they meant 'must land in' I feel like they would have said that, because that is usually what is said for that type of requirement. BUT this is me seeing the scoresheets for the first time yesterday (because I don't care to research these way in the future.. I don't compete on or coach a college team) and I would have asked earlier. If they meant 'must land in' I feel like they would have said it, but you could be right. If you are down there and visit a coaches meeting, let me know what they mean.

But don't forget BHS ups and FHS ups are NOT level 6 skills (aka they arent flipping skills). You can do them in level 5 and they have already been competed in level 5. How do I know they are level 5 skills for 100% sure in college? You cannot flip and twist in college. So the FHS up half up is not flipping. Or the BHS fullup. Hard? yes. Meets the requirements? No.

As for the last part, the way I read it if you rewind awesome but then don't do anything with it (aka pop down) it is useless because you didn't flipping dismount. Kinda stinks that a rewind awesome that doesnt dismount does not get you into the highest category.

I do like, however, that they are finally cracking down on assistance while catching!

Oh, and thinking about it, majority is just 4 stunts on a team of 20. It takes 4 stunt groups (3 people required for each) to get over half. So 4 'whatever gets you in the top category' is majority.
