okay, so this is rather embarrassing to admit, but right now while working on taping techniques for my care and prevention class for Athletic Training, my biggest struggle is ripping the tape  I'm fine with the 1.5" tape, which is the standard size that most of ya'll have used for cheer, but its the 1" that gets me. Its really poor quality tape and was stored in the ATR over the summer, which is exactly what you AREN'T supposed to do. so now its all sticky and melty and impossible to tear. the thing is, we are tested on our taping techniques for competencies, and i know the techniques really well, but we're timed. that's where the trouble comes in. so if anyone knows how to tear tape, please, help a sister out! lol last thing i want is to fail competencies because i can't tear tape, how embarrassing...
How long are your nails?

weirdest thing happened to me today: Ok so I am so mental about having people spot me, so to warm up my standing tuck i always grab a panel mat and will tuck off of 4, then 3, then 2, then 1 panel then do it on the floor. So I'm standing on 4 panels, i'd say probably 5 or 6 inches off the ground, and i go to throw my standing tuck and i land in the exact same spot that i started, on the panel mat. and i didn't even wobble when i landed one bit. just landed and didn't move. It was so weird but awesome too!

As a cheer team dad and soccer coach I can't ever be embarrassed in front of my teams by not being able to tear tape.

Rule #1: tear perpendicular
Rule #2: always have your pocket knife or a pair of scissors

So I need a little rant. Tomorrow not only do I have a calc3 quiz, right after that I have a art midterm and right after that i have a history midterm. My stress level is through the roof literally been in the library for at least 20 hours in the last week or so, and i just realized both of the midterms im having tomorrow back to back have NOTHING to do with my major (statistics). Why must colleges torture us with gen ed? I thought that was what high school was for.

I have twenty thousand words to write and research in two weeks in order to graduate. I want to hide under rock and vomit.

Vomit a rainbow? (haha that made me look at your avatar)

Having done this a number of times, I would say that if it is a subject you know pretty well then just start writing. The draft can be modified plenty by cutting and pasting sections that go together or re-organizing a more logical flow. I have found myself coming up with new ideas as I write when I do it this way and it helps me keep writing till I reach my goal. Don't wait for the perfect outline or idea or you will feel really crunched for time. If you don't know the subject well, then read alot about it till you feel comfortable then start writing.

Good luck!

@SharkDad lol! Didn't even think of rainbows! My biggest issue is writing all the stuff that goes around the research, like methodology and lit reviews, and then containing the research. I have waaaaay too much to say - so much in fact that I applied for postgrad so I can keep blathering on about it. I just gotta keep walking past that rock and it'll eventually make sense when deadline gets closer, right?! Mmmmhmmm.

Hope sharkpup's fin isn't causing her too much pain.

i've been using scissors, but they won't pass us on competentencies if we use them when we get tested :(
its frustrating because they tell us how specific things have to be when we're tested, and then once we pass we can do things however we want.

So I'm typing this from my new MacBook that I got for my birthday!! It's an older version (one of the white ones) but I love it :) My boyfriend fixes Apple computers and sells them so he fixed this one up for me and gave it to me for my birthday!! I was really surprised!! :D

@SharkDad, I hope your shark pup had a great birthday!! :D
