We have cubbies that everyone puts their phones on, and the gyms so loud you never hear them go off, but we can use our phones during water breaks and video tape with them.

when we arrive at practice, we have to put our phone in a bucket. throughout practices we get 5 minute breaks to use it and do whatever we want. it's nice :)

If my girls cell phones ring in the middle of practice I get to answer it. If a text alert goes off I get to read it out loud.

Needless to say, most of my girls silence their before practice. =)
oh my gosh! thats great:) sounds like something my coach would doo!

When I coached dance, I had a girl that would put her phone in her sports bra, and take it out and start texting while I was working on choreography with my back to the group. Once the other girls started ratting her out, then she would still keep it in her sports bra but then she said she was having "stomach problems" and had to use the bathroom a lot. She would go to the bathroom and text her boyfriend. After I found out about that, I started collecting the phones in a basket at the begining of every practice.
that is absoutley crazy.

we are def not allowed to use them during breaks. In fact, a lot of the team would go to the farther water fountain in the school because it's colder and would take so long so my co-captains and I purchased water bottles for the team, now they don't leave the mats ever :)

For me, I'd probably be like cheerKT in my cellphones during practice scheme..water breaks should really only be long enough to get water and catch your breath quick.

Think of it this way- every minute you're on your phone during practice is another minute your competitor is getting better..suddenly phones during breaks aren't so important anymore. Or that it's another of your tuition dollars being used up on your phone when you could be getting your money's worth..

On my softball team girls used to do that during batting practice. They'd stand in the outfield with their cell phones in their glove

Nope, no phones in practice, EVER. If it's an emergency parents have my number. Pointless to be on your phone during practice.

as a coach i always wanna throw their phones out of the window. unfortunaly i cant do that.
when one goes off everyone is disturbed, or they get a text message from someone that said something mean and that phone owner is upset the entire practise.

i allow them to use them during the break, but ive seen some sneaking out more and more to check their phones.
they'll get a speech at the beginning of the year to refresh the rules, and the phones are definitly something on the agenda!

your spelling burns my eyeballs...:sharkchase:

No phone allowed at practice... period....all of the kids put their belongings in a cubbie when they arrive to practice and never really have time during practice to get their phones to be honest... They can use the rest room, get a drink but Ive never seen anyone have time to get out a phone and use it.....
