Can you even begin to imagine how hard it is to be one of the first teams in your country. As coaches say on here again and again, you cannot learn from Youtube, you need high quality coaching. If this isnt available you have to start somewhere. You have to make mistakes. Its not the mistakes that matter but learning from them. God it was hard enough setting up the first cheer squad at my uni let alone the first in your country!

I think they did a great job. As a new team to get guys involved and to get partner stunting incorparted into the routine (did you see the PS spike at the back) is to be applauded. At least they aren't just waving poms around!!!!!!

Also remember this is an international forum now and not just for america so it is very likely that those who took part in this routine will read this/be offended by certain comments.

My comment was not meant to offend anyone, i also think that they did great for being the first Team in Spain ever, nevertheless i don't think the way the girl dances is appropriate and that was the only thing that really bothered me! Again, i have huge respect for them trying o establish our sport in spain and i think it's great that they took that challenge :)

The guy who did all partner stunt is Bryan. He was in Slovenia one year to teach some slovenian teams. I know he is from USA.

Can someone translate what they said for me? I wouldn't know how to spell out what they're saying in order to make sure it was translated properly?

I will say two positive things: One- HELLO front walkover girl! They were so fast and really pretty.. Two- They have drive, they've got heart, and they've got passion. I wish some girls/cheerleaders in America had half the energy and passion for what they were doing they seemed to have..You can teach skills, you can correct formations, but you can only do so much to evoke passion and heart.

They are so enthusiastic! 100% effort went into that, however they are clearly just developing, in the future however, given a sprung floor, and enough team members so one doesn't have to dance on their own whilst the others stunt...keeping up that passion and enthusiasm it could definitely develop!

I liked the random toe touch at the end, clearly this was a show routine and they wouldnt go into a competition with that exact routine. I thought they did really well. Credit to them

Okay really? I remember how cheerleading started over here in Germany and compared to that, they did pretty well. I mean come on, it's the first team, I've ever seen from spain. An in southern Europe, cheerleaders are more commonly known as "pom pom girls". So I was expecting wayy worse than this. The actually really tried to incorporate that athletic look (okay the pyramid dance is a little questionable) even with their uniforms.
I must say for a first team I'm rather impressed as I was expecting girls shaking huuuge poms and attempting a few scary stunts.

They're actually really good for a first year team! I am so impressed. Tucks and lays on that hard (and it even looks slippery) floor, 2 1/2 high pyramids? Pretty good effort. Yes, the choreography needs work, but they seem to have the skills and the heart so I think they have SO much potential and IMO, that is a much easier thing to fix than simply having a team with no skills or drive.

:)
