They put up the scoresheets today. Unsurprisingly, they're now using the varsity score sheet, but it look like they ARE using the Worlds Scoresheets for Worlds Divisions. I was worried since they're a Varsity brand that they wouldn't.

Spirit Fest has used the World's sheets for the last few years and always seems to make a point of having Judges on those panels that judge World's year after year. It's great to get feedback on the actual World's scoresheet (from World's judges) ahead of Worlds. With the event in March this year instead of January, it's even nicer with it closer to Worlds. That and the scoring breakdown that they give are wonderful!

I know they have in the past, which I agree, I really like, especially as a coed level 6 team. But they were recently bought by Varsity so I didn't know if they would continue to do so or would have to stick with the Varsity score sheet for worlds divisions. They don't have the Worlds scoresheets up for level 6 though, in fact it says non-worlds division, so I hope that's just an oversight.

Scoring wise, it's probably better that it's later, I agree with about that. But this is where we got our bid last year and I kind of wish it were earlier again because I feel like that score sheet gets us the best chance of scoring high enough to earn another bid. We almost certainly won't get one at Providence.

Anyway, should be exciting, I really enjoyed this competition this year. I liked it at Mohegan Sun though - my boyfriend came with me and he went and played poker until it was time to come watch me compete, haha.

How do they give out bids here? Just high scores?

Last year they set the two paid bids aside for senior teams - one all girl and one coed I think. They did set aside an at large bid for the highest scoring international team though, which was nice. But this competition was in January last year, before Providence, so having it later in the season might shake things up a bit.

And they use the worlds scoresheets for worlds divisions.

Jersey is bringing all teams except for Tiny 1 I believe. Our mid season Senior 3 is debuting here. (I think)

ECE is bringing a few teams possibly. not i5 or any CT teams though because we will all be in Maryland for Battle

So ECE and USA are both bringing teams to Battle at the Capital. Do any other north east programs go down there? I hope there are a decent amount of teams at this comp.

From the other thread - Star Athletics, State, SJS also go to battle.

I feel like Core has gone to battle in the past.

this is the first year it was the same weekend as battle, so not sure if it will hurt them at all. Usually spiritfest gets a lot of teams, though. i have always liked their scoring & i like the fact that you get everyone's scores. so you can see exactly where you stand in all areas against everyone in your division.

What teams from World Cup are going? Just Lazers?

Oh That is exciting. I'm also excited to compete on the World's score sheets for Level 5&6.

Do they look at your total score on the world's score sheets for bids? Should be interesting since each division has different requirements. Senior vs international and coed vs all girl.

I believe so. All of the other Level 5s are off that weekend because they are competing at UCA the weekend after. And all of the lower levels have a 1 day in Toms River.

We added this comp since we dropped out of Spirit Cheer.

I think they do - everyone has different requirements, but they're all out of 300 points, I believe. Here's what they posted after Day 1 last year (they're so transparent, it's great!)
