Our team went to JumpStreet together one time, it was really fun getting to do stuff like tumbling dodgeball...but then again, major risk of injuries there lol.

My last year at CEA, my J3 made teal, black & white tye-died tops. They were super easy and we did them at skills camp the first day and wore them the last day. We also had 'cheer sisters' which was kinda a year long thing, but we were assigned a teammate and got them little good luck gifts and holiday presents. it was always so much fun!!
Two years ago, my new gym took us to a teammate's house and we had a bonfire and spent the night there. it wasn't that big of a deal, but was fun.
Last year, S2 went to the gym, made motivational signs to hang in the gym, made bows, went to the mall for a scavenger hunt (everything had to be red-our main color), and then went to a teammates house for a pool party. It was great!! I didn't go on the S4 trip, but they went to a teammate's house at the lake in the mountains, and stayed the night. the made jackolanterns and stuff. :)

Lazer tag is a big hit. Sleepovers are exhausting but very fun for the kids!!

The last year I was Youth Elite team mom I painted the kids toenails teal the last practice before Cheersport for Good Luck and the kids loved that. (Stole that idea from cheermeup who did it with her team the year before that)

Make frienship bracelets.

Our teams did a scavenger hunt at WCA in Nashville and that was A LOT of fun for the kids.

Last year Jr Elite Princesses had a sleepover and they had a Miss America Pageant...1 of the more fun sleepovers I've been to. They dressed up, had a talent, lined up on the stairs and introduced themselves. It was really fun!

Maybe Zip lining.

We did a team bonding at one girls lake house for the past two years. We went tubing, swimming at that sort of thing. It was for a high school team so ages about 14-18, but I think younger kids would also like this!

One year I was a team mom to a senior 3 team with a broad age range. My 11 year old and 17 year old were on the team!

I did a team dinner during the summer after practice. We made team practice bows.

The thing that I did that the kids loved the most was this. Our team's goal was to win Cheersport Atlanta. It was discussed in the summer that we were going to win, sometimes there was almost too much pressure. Anyway, about a month before, I bought a piece of pink glitter 12x12 card stock and trimmed it into a big heart. Using a sharpie, I wrote all 36 girls names and the coaches names on the heart, with words like believe, team, etc... I then cut the heart into 39 random pieces, I cut through names so it was all a mish mash of letters. I gave each child and coach a piece of the heart to put under the sole of their shoe. I told them that there were 39 parts to their heart and that they each carried a part of it. The kids LOVED this. My daughter still has her part of the heart. The kids still tell me that was one of their favorite things and they still have their piece of the heart.

They did win Cheersport that year. The power of a strong team bond is immense.

That sounds like fun, I know near us there are the places with a bunch of trampolines, maybe it's got something like that! Thanks!

We did the heart beads too.

Something else I did that went a long ways towards team bonding was good luck cards for our competitors. Each competition, I chose a team we were going against and made a card stock card that said good luck and had all of the kids sign it. We then gave the card and a pack of heart beads to the team in warm ups. One of the teams we did this for was HotCheer. Our team was in first place after day one in Atlanta. The HotCheer girls were at practice Sunday and they made a good luck video for our girls and posted it on Facebook. Our team was able to watch it in warm ups and it really pumped them up. I feel like becoming closer to other teams bonded them further and opened the door to new friendships.

I might be slightly biased but she carried that team on her shoulders to that win! And I totally forgot the heart idea and wished I had done that one too! But, I can't steal everything. LMAO

Our coaches have the kids pick a partner they do not know...then they have them make a poster about their partner...telling 10 things about them...they vote on best poster...everyone presents their poster at practice...everyone finds out about everyone...gift card for the winner...:)

That's a really cute idea. I like that one!!

Last year at beach camp the kids were to come up with a Voiceover they would like to hear in their music and make a tshirt with that saying on it. The kids had a great time doing that!

Something our coaches did was big sis little sis. The coaches paIred up the kids 1quiet 1 outgoing. Each comp they had to bring something non monetary for their team sis. The coach would announce the practice before what it was.

Here are some things they did.

Good luck card

Team Facebook pages are awesome too.

When we did cheer sister's I paired them a new person with a veteran......

I like the non monetary idea....after years and years and years and ye.....(well you get the idea).....of doing this there's just so many "cool" gifts you can do without being completely out of ideas.

I love our Christmas parties. They play lots of games and eat but the gifts are the best part! They are only allowed to spend $5 and the present HAS to be hand made. They're given someone's name about a month ahead of time (they're secret..but they usually figure out who has them by their non suave manner of asking their favorite color..rock band etc. during that month).

When they present their gift they have to say something great about their person while the team tries to guess who it is. When they guess, they give them their gift and then it's that teammates turn to give their gift and it goes on and on until they're all traded.

It's awesome.
