I'm sure this has been discussed before, but as far as level 5 athlets go...Do you feel more nerves at NCA or Worlds? I mean obviously worlds is a big deal but the production part of it is much less than NCA as far as lighting and such.

For my CP it was NCA because she'd never been to a comp that big before. It was a great prep for Worlds a couple months later...got all the jitters out!

The nerves are for different reasons at each event for me. Of course at both I want to hit and not mess anything up for my team, but NCA I'm also worried about the lights and the amount of people watching is INSANE! Worlds, there is more at stake, but you also have practiced more. I don't get to nervous for Worlds because I can see more and it feels like home.. Idk if anyone else feels like that but being on the Worlds stage is an amazing feeling to me. It just makes me happy! And my happiness calms my nerves

NCA. Especially if a bid is on the line. Worlds..meh, is just another competition to me. Well, at least I tell myself that to calm down. Haha

Having competed at both, and winning both! NCA to me is so much more scary and more pressure, I feel like WORLDS is more laid back and competing on the floor feels like a practice full out!

I find it kinda funny that the competition that's supposed to be the biggest thing in our sport is the one that most people are like eh about lol. But I guess that out of order progression is just a cheer thing. I mean look at how many nationals there are some even before a regionals :p

Definitely NCA. The arena, the lights, the smoke, its all very intense. Not to mention that 1/2 a mile walk from warm up to the arena where you have a million and one emotions and thoughts running through your head! It's all very nerve wreaking, but as soon as your music starts, you're nerves fade and you do what you've been trained to do. Dallas has always been my favorite competition, I love everything about the experience NCA gives you. Worlds is, ehh. I mean, of course its nerve wreaking, but its also not as many people as NCA, not as many bells and whistles, and in a way, the atmosphere is a lot calmer to me because I know I've done this routine a thousand times and its just muscle memory. I think about how I have one more weekend of competing with the team I love and would do anything for, and fighting for one last perfect routine!

For me, it's definitely NCA. Something about that comp screams nerves. Worlds is fun and relaxing for me.

I blame it on the venue primarily. There just isn't that much they can do to improve the experience while it is still stuck at WWS.

There are good reasons that the Superbowl isn't held at a local high school football stadium.

id like a worlds ring but i would also love a nca jacket. to hard of a pick for me
never competed at either but imagine both arnt exactly a cake walk

I just realized if I would have cheered back in my day, I would have aged out before any of these teams even existed. This year was my first year spectating at both NCA and Worlds and aside from getting to see Team USA and alot of the other International teams, I liked NCA a lot better!! IMO.
