Me too! I can't wait to see the movie. It was one of the better books we read in high school. I would like to name a future dog of mine Gatsby.

I also really liked To Kill A Mockingbird. I named my current dog Atticus. He's perfect.

ETA: if you follow me on twitter or Instagram you've seen my obsession with him.

I follow your dog on twitter. And occassionally retweet him. It's adorable.

Words cannot explain how happy and excited I am for the great gatsby movie I have literally been waiting for it to come out for like years (well really only 2 but still) this may or may not be partially due to my undying love for Leonardo diCaprio

Also how do you people not love catcher in the rye?!

When does the movie even come out? I remember seeing previews for it but cannot remember the date.

I don't dislike Catcher In The Rye but I don't completely love it either.

That's so far away! :( I was hoping you'd say march or February haha. I will be taking a break from finals studying during that time to see it.

I know, the worst part is it was originally supposed to be released this past September but the people thought it was bad timing so they bumped it all the way to may

Haha, I understand that one. The library is my favorite place in the summer because I can read for days and days. My bank account cannot keep up with the amount of books I read so I am thankful for my library. But yeah, I'm always the youngest one there...

Best thing about being a librarian is they I don't get fines, I know how to override holds to get something if there's a wait (but I don't) and if we don't have a book I can request it for professional development haha

Ha ha the secret life of the librarian....I love our library. I basically reserve everything that I want and they are able to get it from other libraries so quickly if they do not already have it. I read so fast that to spend money on books - unless it is one I am going to read over and over (and I have quite a few like that) is truly a waste for me, plus I would run out of room in my house. I am constantly telling my kids that they are not allowed to download something to their kindles without checking with the library first and waiting a few days to see if they get it in.

Are you serious? That makes me mad lol. September was not bad timing!

Has anyone read Dare Me by Meg Abbott ? It's about cheerleading somehow. I read the excerpt on my ibooks app and it seemed pretty good. When to barnes & noble and it was all sold out, sad
I read it last week. Not terrible, not great. I was not really fan. the cheer lingo is AWFUL and the athlete and coach relationship in the book made me feel awkward. Pretty predictable I thought.

And just to bring in some more classics:
The Count of Monte Cristo
Don't ever read the actual version... you will hate yourself and the book.

My newest favorite series (I love series books) are the Stephanie Plum books.
Janet Evanovich??? If so the movie One For the Money is based on one of them.

The Great Gatsby is my all time favorite book. I was Daisy for Halloween. I own two fancy, expensive limited edition books, that one and To Kill a Mockingbird. Fell in love and never looked back.
If people looked at my bookshelf, they would be confused because my taste in novels is all over. If people like funny books, I recommend any of Tucker Max's books, fair warned it is for an older audience. If people like sports books, my personal favorite is Moneyball and if you want to cheat, yes it is a movie. Another classic favorite of mine is Wuthering Heights. If you like history, take a stab at The Mayflower Papers, boring at times but an overall good read.

And for all of you who read the 50 Shades... so did my 75 year old grandma. She read them all in 2 days and talks about them ALL the time. Awesome.
