so im doing a presentation about cheerleading for my finnish class. i thought it would be fun to show a video of a good routine for them since no one in my class has ever seen an actual cheerleading team. i was thinking about top gun large coed worlds 2008, but im not sure about it because i cant find a video that has good quality.. so what do you guys think, what routine would be the best to show to a group of people who have no idea what cheerleading is ?

I've learned that people who don't know what cheerleading is about, don't catch all the action going on. I think you should show them the kind of videos that jtv and 2by2 make. Maybe a short one from a competition that shows different teams.

That's actually a great idea! Try looking for one that has multiple team routines shown in it. This will give them an idea of the diversity of allstar teams. SN: I'm finnish!!! That's cool that you're taking a class on that language! Not many people know about it lol

I actually wouldn't show a level 5 team because there is so much to follow and it seems unattainable by people who don't cheer. When showing people what cheer is all about, I've found that they are in awe of a great level 3 or 4 team because a) it's a bit slower and b) the tumbling and stunting isn't so advanced that they can't comprehend ever doing it. Take my opinion for what it's worth and I'm sure that most here would disagree with me, but it's what I've found to be true.

I agree with you! I remember my first intro to allstars was watching my neighbor's level 3 team's video from a competition. I was in total and complete awe! I would have never even imagined that there was even higher level cheerleading at that point because I had never seen anything like it :)

I would show a 2by2 video! I did that for my math class project and it helped a lot because they could see the skills and see what it takes for cheerleading and not just thinks its a jumbled mess of throwing people and flipping around :p

There´s a video in good quality from this years majors, showing some of all teams. And i love the trailers for every team competed at majors. It´s not the entire routine, but scenes from practise and i really love it.

i think a few clips from a 2by2 would be great, but honestly dont underestimate people they catch on a lot more then your giving them credit for ive shown people cheer extremes routine from the first year SE did the ballup 360 (2010?) and people were astounded by the stunts and kept asking to pause and go back because they couldnt believe what they saw.
