What venue is "Varsity Arena"?
Is it new? And did Varsity actually buy into it or is it just a name change for this competition?

Varsity arena is still being built next to the field house and jostens center. It temporarily is a tent but will eventually be a building. At least last year it was a tent.

You can buy an app, I have Photon, I used it for NCA

It's kind of a pain though. I don't recommend it on your phone unless you're desperate. Every time you switch out of the app, you have to log back in with PayPal to reconnect.

If you have an iPad and don't mind not being able to do anything else on it, then go for it, but I only used it because I had already bought the app for something else (it's $5).

Plus you're basically using a computer on some server somewhere - that's how it works, so I'd be weary of entering your Paypal info on it.

It is still a tent. We competed there in it last year and....umm....it was not as "cool" as being in the buildings like the previous years :)

Is everyone just hung over from NCA still? It seems like there is zero interest on the board in regards to this comp...
And Twitter has more conversation about Bucky leaving Fierce than placements right now...

Sorry if this has been answered before, but why is there like division A and B? Whats the difference?

There was no difference. We couldn't figure that out, other than making the divisions smaller by doing it?? My CP's J3 team was in a division of 11 (B) & Division A had 7 teams. They were all small J3's.

That makes no sense...I could see if it was for some sort of prelims or something but it wasn't.

Usually it is by number size. For small it is sometimes teams that have maybe 17- 20 (or just 20) in one group and teams that have less than 17 or 20 in another.

From all the tournaments I've been to or seen, the split divisions seem to only be done from levels 1-4. I suspect the reason split divisions are done to produce more champions at the lower levels. There's really no rhyme or reason to split a diviision if the purpose is to crown a national champion in a specific division. I've never seen a tournament split divisions at level 5. At that level , they do it straight up. One division, one champion. The only problem I see at the level 5 division is the lack of competition at the large senior level. Most of the times, there's 3-6 teams at any big tournament or only one team competing in this division at smaller comps paving an easy road to get titles and paid bids while small senior and medium senior have many more teams competing for national titles and bids.
