The scoring was a sham for some of the divisions. NCA NCA - I'd rather travel half way across the country than all the way across the country to get unfairly scored. Just sayin'

It was a little all over the place. There was a team in mini 1 that got a perfect 1.0 on jump technique. MINI 1. The day I see a mini 1 team with perfect jumps is the day I keel over and die...

Buttttt, I still want to go back. I'm in love with Disney... *sigh*

I think that wherever you go (NCA included) scoring is not going to be perfect. We brought only 5 teams and our of the five I would say three were right on and two of our teams seemed to be off on their scoring.

mine too and I thought the placings were right on - and my CPs team moved down:(, but deservedly so. Maybe I missed something
I thought the same thing. We took 2nd and I thought my CP & team would be upset, but they were proud of their performances both days and said that they lost because Brandon was and I quote "Freaking Incredible" and I have to agree.

Loved the competition but I didn't like the scoring. My team has won the majority of our competitions this year (including wsf and supernationals) and have pretty good difficulty for level 2 yet they scored us very low on technique. We are clean and execute things well yet they killed us on that. Disappointing and not my favorite competition.

What happened?

Our J4 team had a pyramid issue - a drop absolutely. Looking at all the teams (12), with that pyramid issue we all thought we would be in maybe 5th place worst case scenario. Um.... We were in 9th. We have never been anywhere near 9th in all the 6 seasons I have been in cheer. Long story short- the head judge admitted they unfairly scored us and that he would watch closely on Sunday. Hence why we went from 9th up to 4th on Sunday. Had they scored us correctly, we would have been 2nd on Sunday. Easily.

And they didn't fix the poor scoring from day 1?! How can something that is clearly scored wrong not be fixed? They just "watch closely"? Seems wrong to me.

Many of the level 2 divisions were extremely competitive at UCA. My sister's team got grand champions for level 2 at WSF Indy and did well at other competitions then went on to place 8th at UCA (with no deductions). The division was just really tough.

Our coaches told us before we went into warm ups that UCA scores very harsh on technique.

I slept on this one before I posted, and was going to ignore it, but I feel the need to defend the teams in this division. I am not looking to pick a fight, and your jr 4 team is REALLY good - I would have put them top 2 if they had hit. But you didn't just have a drop. The entire group also traveled nearly a full panel and missed a skill within the pyramid and there was a stunt bobble in partner stunts. The top 5 teams day 1 all had clean routines that met the score sheet. I can't argue whether you should have been 6-9 after day 1 because I don't remember those teams well enough. Regardless, with the mistakes your team made day 1, I thought their final placing was right where it should have been - right behind the three teams that had solid routines both days. I don't see how you think you should have been ahead of Brandon, CJA and Top Gun in the final results, and I don't think any head judge would see it that way either.
