A tip from Debbie Love's website is putting your tongue on the roof of your mouth. It hasn't worked for any of my kids, but sharing in case it does for yours! I think the biggest thing will be drills - A LOT of drills!! I had issues at first taking my tucks back and not up. I can't tell you how many drills I did. Coaches would build up trap mats to my shoulder blade height and I would do tuck drills onto them. If I didn't go up, the mat was so tall I would fall and the mat would move. They did this for girls who tumble crooked to, because you would miss the mat and fall!
Thank you all so much we will be trying some of these!!!! Thanks again!

HELP!! My cp picked up some bad tumbling habits at her old gym. She is working with new tumbling coaches to get them corrected. The biggest is throwing her head back! We have tried everything to fix it! Any suggestions? When I ask her she says she's really trying but has been doing it for 6 years so its hard to break! Ty
The same thing happened to me. I still haven't gotten over this bad habit completely. Bhs it's the worst. Standing tucks got easier after going on my trampoline and starring at the wall as long as I could. It eventually got better.

Can anyone from GBE anwser some quick questions for me? 1). When do you guys have open gyms? I saw on facebook today that there was "open gym 3-8" but I wasn't sure if that was just for GBE athletes or what. 2). Are your open gyms open to just GBE athletes or can the 'general public' come too? 3). How much are they?

Thanks so much to anyone that can answer these. My friends and I are looking for somewhere to work on tumbling before tryouts.

So my question is following:

What do you do to prepare your teams going into Worlds?
With the deduction rule....like do you practise "not waving" while walking into the mat or do you just tell them walk to like soldiers when the days comes?..

So I'm still wondering if anyone would be so kind as to answer my question? Hehe I'm getting a bit antsy about this...

I don't think it has to be as strict as everyone's thinking, it just can't be as long and drawn out as some teams tend to be. I think the normal run and wave and get into spot is still fine, so most teams (unless they are like Spirit of Texas whose entrance has specifically been pointed out) are probably not paying much attention to it.

Oh ok thanks! :)

okay i know a girl on the team gave that response about ody's red bow... so i don't want to say she's wrong and i am not a team member so i could also be wrong. but i'm pretty sure the original red bow was in support of kids from fame(i think it's fame?) that got in a car accident and passed away. then they became more a tradition in seasons following.

edit: i'm old. i don't even think any of the kids on the current team could have been on the team when that happened. so maybe they don't even know? haha weird.
This story is correct. It was prior to their comp in Baltimore. Odyssey came out in red bows and we all started crying. It was a wonderful sign of solidarity in the cheer world that day. Some made signs for our coed team and other's wore red. It was beautiful and very thoughtful. The Valentine's day story may also be true. But I believe the original red bow was support for FAME.

I have a question... If small coed restricted 5 and small coed 5 are 2 separate division. How could RTB put a non-worlds team against a worlds team? This doesn't seem right to put Xtreme cheer fire up against just cheer jags

And to add on to that question. How come in large coed 5 theres like 12 guys or something like that and in large restricted coed 5 the limit is 4 guys? Does anyone have a legitimate reason to why this is appropriate?

okay, i had no idea who this girl was and i just twitter investigated, as well. i will say if cheerlebrities havveee to be a thing (i wish they weren't) i'd be totally fine with kids looking up to an older, lower level athlete. not every kid is going to be level 5 and why can't that awesome dancer/stunter/whoever on level 2 get noticed if other kids are being noticed too?

however, if little kids are looking up to you, you should probably not look like you're going out to a club while wearing your uniform and have things hanging out. you should also not pose/post pictures giving the middle finger in said uniform. i looked on the "famous" tumblr... every picture is of her half naked, or random people making out and whatnot. awesome role model.

The more everyone talks about her, the more famous she becomes...just sayin

Large Coed 5 is actually 18 or less males. "Large restricted coed 5" is not actually a "real" division. The division is restricted 5, and they limit it at 4 males. They start splitting it at events by large/small and coed/all girl once there are enough teams to do so. I'm not exactly sure what you mean by "appropriate" though?
