A friend of mine in at the HS in the next town over from us cheers for baseball. From what she said they basically sit there all game and do silent moves from the bleachers. Around the middle innings the teams break and they go out on the field to cheer.

Anyone else do baseball cheer. Seems cool to keep active in the spring, or to have some new girls join in for a whole different squad. I brought it up to our coach and she was skeptical but thought we should try it for one of our games.

My CP's high school cheer squad goes to the baseball games dressed in the same cheer t-shirts and jeans and sit together to show support but they don't cheer or perform.

Baseball cheer...that so strange. This is the first time I've ever heard of it. Very glad my school never did this. I am not a fan of baseball.

Our high school went to baseball. 4 girls sat in front row to keep the chatter going
Version One

Clap clap clap clap
Let's go Yankees! (Substitute your favorite team for Yankees.)
Stomp, stomp, stomp, stomp (Use your feet.)
Here we go Yankees!

Version Two

Here we go Yankees, here we go! (Again, substitute your team's name.)
Stomp, stomp
Here we go Yankees here we go!
Stomp, stomp

Pitcher Cheers
Cheer One

Slider
Speedy
Or even a curve
Pitch, Pitch, Pitch that ball
We don't care how but
Strike him out!

Cheer Two

Harder
Faster
Whatever it takes
When he hits that ball we
We wanna see the bat break!

For the Umpire
C'mon ump?
What was that call?
What's a matter?
Can't you see the ball?

Our parents are so loud it's like cheering.. I don't see the difference. Baseball gets the short end because its so late in the year. I think anything that brings more students to support is great!

Never heard of baseball cheering. My friend is a hockey cheerleader though!
I have a friend that cheers hockey too. They have the cutest routines on the bleachers. Actually, a part of their competition is performed on a set of bleachers. I would be TERRIFIED! I have enough issues just making it to my seat without falling. How these girls manage to choreograph routines and bleacher stunts without wiping out is beyond me.

For a different take on hockey cheer, check out the University of Minnesota's hockey cheerleading squad. They not only cheer in the stands, but on the ice as well. They're incredible!

yeah we did hockey for 2 games this year when our team was in the playoffs. I can skate well and 4 other girls were good skaters so we did some standing cheers and minor movements on the ice and then joined the rest of the squad in the stands afterwards. It was pretty good, but very cold in the ice rink. Cheering at high school hockey games isn't like going to an NHL arena where it's like room temp in the stadium. Local skating rinks are like 40 degrees!

Our baseball idea worked out okay, but people were looking at us thinking what are cheerleaders doing here. And there were not many spectators at all. I don't know if we'll do another game. Maybe.

I think I'd kill myself if we cheered for baseball.

This sounds like something Craig and Arianna from SNL would do....do you do the baseball game on Tuesday and the chess meet on Weds and the swim meet on Thursday?

Ha!! I agree... I am now envisioning them doing a cheer for baseball like the "who's that spartan in my tee pee - it's me it's me" :)

Not gonna lie, from a softball player's standpoint, I don't think I'd like it if we had cheerleaders.

Our cheerleaders are required to go to at least one softball game. They wear jeans and the same cheer t-shirt and sit together in the stands. The softball players don't want them there, and the cheerleaders don't want to be there.
