Summit or US finals... Which is more prestigious? Which would you rather attend?

Having attended Final Destination NKA The US FINALS...I going to pick The Summit although I have never attended the Summit. I cant begin to express how much I despise US Finals, instead of getting better every year they get worse. US finals is so unorganized, they either need to find another VENUE or offer more East Coast locations. Last year they were fined by city of VB for grossly miscalculating the # of participants, spectators, etc for this event. To say it was over capacity is an understatement.

Don't know if someone has already posted this but the summit setup is just like the Worlds mat (ps. Sorry for the thread Jack)

We received paid bids to US Finals Y2 and Y3 and chose to do Summit AL (Y3)....I am sure your question will be answered soon after this weekend :)
Best of luck to all the teams! Everyone HIT!

How would anyone know which one they would rather attend if The Summit hasn't taken place yet?

Well, I was going on the assumption that people have already made decisions... Considering they are both this weekend... Silly me.

To be honest, the US finals is a small, insignificant competition. I competed there in 2011, and there was no more than 4 or 5 teams in a division. All of the teams were tiny gyms, a few were scary to watch. It was pretty pointless actually

The vb location has over 600 teams. There is plenty of competition. ..ie small gym small jr L3 has 17 team in their div.

A LOT of teams have gone or are going to US Finals. i have gone the last 3 or 4 years and i thought they did a good job.
Summitt looks like it will be a great comp, and i like the concept.
At the end of the day it's nice to have choices.

I'm very happy to stick with US Finals. It's a nice way to end the season with our entire gym! In addition, it's easy to attend multiple one-day bid-giving comps that are close to home. The whole process of chasing a Summit bid and attending the competition is way too costly! I will save that expense for when CP is on a worlds team!

That's a good point, but I think that's the point of the Summit. Face it, many kids will never be able to make it onto a Worlds team in their careers. I did it for 13 years and never was because my gym just never went Lv 5. So it's nice to see them giving the kids on non-worlds teams the same experience! It gives them the drive and motivation to get the bids and work hard for them. That's one thing about US Finals. Many teams do go to them, but it's really not hard to get a bid at all. Its kind of like how the International All Levels Championship was.

US Finals seemed to mean more back when it was Final Destination. We are in Providence this weekend and cp's team has one other team in their division. I'm very curious to see how The Summit plays out.

my feeling about us finals is that it's insignificant. I really am hoping the summit is successful and takes off. it would be so great to have a prestigious competition for non-worlds team kids. they work hard too!
