Scoring confuses me. Is your score out of 100? I know some level 5 teams score in the upper 90's. but then you get to lower levels and they're in the 70's and 60's... so are they only scored out of like 90 or 80? sorry if that makes no sense at all...

Scoring is super confusing! I'm a judge for multiple companies and everyone operates differently. We could talk for days, literally and things would still be confusing. Just make sure if you're choreographing a routine you understand the USASF guidelines and know which company's events you plan on attending so you can max out as best as possible!! Plus a lot of companies change their sheets/grids annually so stay on top of that too!

I know lots of people were talking about the "superman" (as think someone on the boards put it) dismount at Worlds this year, where the flyer lands in prone. I think smoed did it from a lib with a quarter turn. Anyway, I was reading the rules and didn't see any specific rules regarding a dismount to prone (unless I missed it in which case I'm sorry!), so does that mean you can double down to prone in level 5?

I'm pretty sure it is, HotCheer Hot5 did something like that last year (2012) in their pyramid.

Thanks! I found a video in case anyone else was interested :)

Although it's a toss rather than a dismount so idk if the rules could be different

Is there a difference between stunts a level 4 team can do and a 4.2 team can? I know tumbling is different but I always wondered about stunts.

Question about Louisville tryouts. Why do they wear what they wear, like the costumes (prbly not the right word) or whatever you want to call it. Never totally understood why.

I know Coed Elite and Cheer Sport Great Whites both competed full down to prone this year, Idk about double downs though. Probably legal, but likely very difficult.

What's the difference between IO and just Open teams? If there is one!

There technically isn't one, although I've noticed that most people refer to the level 5 open divisions as IO and the level 6 ones as Open. ANY division at worlds could very well be an international one, you just see more in the level 5s, and some in the level 6.

We call ourselves Open, but at Worlds, we're IO. I think it's just too much word to say and Open makes it easier. I think the difference come in with the level 5 teams. Senior is 15-18 (I'm not sure, so correct me if I'm wrong) and international open 5 is 14+ with no age cap
