Varsity All Star
For the 13-14 season, teams competing in L3-L5 Senior Coed divisions (excluding 5 Restricted and 4.2) must demonstrate unassisted stunts AT PREP LEVEL OR ABOVE to qualify for the HIGH subrange!
More Info To Be Announced at Varsity All Star Gym Owners Conference next week!
It's summertime on the boards...let's discuss!

I believe 4.2 is not separated coed from AG. As for restricted5... That's anyone's guess.

Why not Restricted or 4.2 if levels 3, 4, & 5 Coed?

I agree with questioning why the restricted 5 is exempt - that is the stepping stone to the Worlds teams, and if any coed division should have to demonstrate unassisted coed stunting it should be the higher levels. I thought this was already a requirement for Worlds, but I saw very few coed teams with true unassisted coed stunts, and those that did didn't seem to get rewarded for it. I am all for this, but if they put this in place they follow through with it when scoring the divisions.

They are both not separated coed from all girl. There can be coed/all girl splits if there are enough of each team, but otherwise the divisions is just "restricted 5". no coed. sr coed 3-5 are already separate divisions from sr all girl 3-5 in the age grid. teams in restricted 5 could possibly compete against all girl teams all the time with only a few comps where they're separated out.

I also wonder if is will nip the new trend of male flyers in the bud. And where to the smaller boys go now? If they can't lift a flyer unassisted what do you do with them in a routine?

I'm not all too familiar with American scoring so forgive me if this is a stupid question but will this affect the worlds scoresheet? Or is there already a true coed stunting element to it or something?

They're going to add a 50lb 10 yr old that more than likely doesn't have to skill set to be on the team and tell her and the small boy to figure something out.
