Very excited that they are trying to establish a mutual scoring system. This is a great thing for gyms. Now if we can get all the Companies to agree on one standard scoring system this will help recognition as a sport, judge mistakes, and will benefit the industry. Excited to see how close they are!

It will be interesting. I think it will be good. Like NCA and UCA school. Same scoresheet but NCA offers more divisions and is a lot better. We see UCA because of ESPN.

How did I miss that? I saw that they were both releasing scoring information tomorrow, but I don't remember seeing anything about it being a mutual system across both brands.

I personally like having multiple scoresheets to choose from.

I still think you can have multiple flavors of scoresheets with a common rubric. If one EP wants to weight certain elements differently, then that's how they can "differentiate" themselves from someone else.

Mind you, I still think cheer needs a universal scoring system for a variety of reasons. But if there's an insistence on EP's having their own scoresheet, it wouldn't hurt for them to find common ground in certain areas to improve consistency of judging.

I'm with @rudags too. What's more important is having scoresheets that make sense. Cough ***asc*** cough and well trained judges

Well trained judges are very important. I have begged for judging conferences. I know JamBrands have set up something this year. The biggest complaint I receive is "at regionals or another event I scored this", granted some judges miss some things but a routine should score the same if performed the same.

Are you willing to create an outline of what should be taught at judges training?

Definitely. I have printed out both scoring systems and going over them now. I would love to do that. I believe it could be done by each company or by USASF. Who would I send it to?

Actually gimme until Friday and I can have one for each company and one for both. I will send it to you see what you think.
