Congrats! My CP is 6 now. She also started at 4 years old. She begged me to become a cheerleader since she was old enough to talk. I grew up in Dallas, TX and moved to PA about 10 years ago. Shout out to all the TX moms! I love following your teams. They remind me of home! Lol!

Anyways, Since the East Coast does not have Drill Teams and I couldn't sign her up for that...I told her she could become a cheerleader. I am glad I did. The gym we belong to is great! When she started out she didn't even know how to do a cartwheel and now she is mastering her BHS, working on her FWO and so much more. Wow! Time flies once they start! It is crazy how fierce tiny cheerleaders can be!

Also, have fun being Team Mom especially for Tiny Cheerleaders. This past 2012-2013 season I was our Tiny L1 Team Mom! I enjoyed every minute of it. My best advice for being a Team Mom is to always keep your parents VERY informed, support and back your gym, don't get caught up in petty cheer parent gossip and if you can...plan lots of team bonding events not only for your team to interact with each other but events where they can interact with other teams, in the gym, as well. Also, plan some fun things for the tiny girls to do something nice for the older Cheerleader's on the high leveled teams. For example, Before our Junior and Senior Level 4 teams left for NCA Nationals in Dallas our Tiny and Mini teams colored Good Luck pictures for them. I also glued a picture, to the coloring page, of the cheerleader that drew the picture. The girls each handed out their good luck drawings to the teams and the older teams LOVED it!!! Needless to say both our level 4 teams went on to win their divisions after that! They even came back and let some of our Tiny and Minis try their black jackets on. So sweet!

I Hope your CP enjoys cheerleading as much a my CP does and I hope you enjoy being a Team Mom to! Good luck!

Congrats on your Tiny! Such a fun and exciting time for you. As far as the shoes are concerned, Reebok outlet has those classic at a really good price and Academy even carries small size cheer shoes. When my youngest was on showteam and tiny she wore the classic low not the high. They worked great for her.

Congratulations! I went to college in Denton and remember it fondly. Hope your little one has even more fun than you're going to have! It sounds like you're off to a great start.

I should be getting her first practice wear tomorrow at practice, I have to say I'm a little too excited for her very first official LCA clothing! All she has right now is her tryout shirt.

congrats to your cp!
I am a new cheer mom too... My daughter was a competitive gymnast for the last six years. she has always wanted to cheer so now she just switched, hard decision....and she is on a level 3 team.

Does she know what to expect? We just had a gymnast make our Y3, she came to one full practice and never came back. I think she was shell shocked. They work the entire 2 1/2 hr practice. Plus I doubt she expected to base. None of us knew her so no way to reach out to her mom and say, part of it, the rewards are great, give it a chance. She dropped her off and never came in.

I love, love all star. Think it is great and think everyone should try it. I don't know if they were new to area or what. It didn't seem like anyone knew her, so I don't know if she even knew what all star was about. Just sad to see her make CP's team, they are a great bunch of girls, have gotten along so well, just to leave after one practice.
