I am a rec coach for a JV (age 10/11) team and they love to stunt, of course. We have been doing some sideline stunting and do most of the basics. They do a basket sit, thigh stand, hanging stag, half and they can't seem to manage a shoulder sit. I don't want to do liberty/arabesque/extensions on the sideline, we save those for half-time. (I have either big girls or teeny girls, not a lot of in between) I am looking at teaching them the Swedish Falls. I would appreciate any ideas (with links/videos, if possible) to add to our repertoire.

Would you be doing the Swedish falls at a half? They're not very difficult and I've managed to find a video to give a good example to show the girls if they don't know what they're supposed to be doing.

Hope this helps!

That's awesome, but probably above our skill level. I was actually looking for something besides the stunts I mentioned. They always like to try new things.

Oh sorry I misunderstood. Are you allowed to like half ups to halfs or full ups?

They do halfs and liberties and stuff, but we use those for Half-Time and competition. Basically, I am looking for smaller stunts to have fun on the sidelines. They do basket sit, thigh stand, hanging stag, half and this thing we call a standing leg roll that involves frontward rolls with a base and another that we call the superman that aren't real stunts. Some football games go 2 hours and that is a lot of sideline cheering so we try to mix it up.

L stands, teddy bear sits, flat backs, barrel rolls, chairs.

You can also incorporate signs with basic stunts to give the same stunts a different feel. Try building thigh stands with "Lets. Go. _____. signs"

Oooh, thanks! I have no idea what any of those stunts are. Thank goodness for You Tube! Sometimes I just run out of thing s to search for!
