Does anyone have any good motivational studying tips? Especially for reading things you don't want to? I'm supposed to be reading The Crucible for my lit class right now, but I read it in high school and hated it so I'm REALLLY struggling to read it again. Reading my stats book is about twenty times more enjoyable than reading this :(

Lol motivational fact: I started college at 18 and hated it. I had no motivation whatsoever. I'm now 40 and I'm STILL WORKING ON THE SAME DEGREE. I may possibly get my bachelor's next July because I'm now racing my 19-year-old daughter to see who can graduate from college first. Trust me... being 40 and in college sucks waaaaaaaay more than The Crucible.

Hit those books, girlie! :D

Really though - the gummy bears thing works. I also mix other things I want/need to get done with studying. None of it is fun, but I feel so accomplished if I read for 30 minutes, go running, read some more, do dishes, study more, etc. That way after a couple hours I've gotten like 5 things checked off my list instead of just one. I NEVER work on one assignment for more than 30-45 minutes at a time without getting up and doing something else, or even just switching subjects for 20 minutes.

I also set a timer for every 30 minutes on my "study all day" days. One, the half hour flies by - and you realize reading for half an hour isn't so bad; breaking it up makes it seem smaller. Two, it keeps me aware of how much time is passing, so I'm not all of a sudden like, "OMG! #+@% it's 9:00!!!! How did that happen?!?"

Aaaah I thought you were Canadian as that is the magic age in most of Canada (except for Montreal where it is 18). Hope you still had a happy birthday.
Oh, haha I can see where that could be taken that way. I didn't know that was the legal age in most of Canada. :) I'm just the baby out of my group of friends. And thank you for the birthday wishes. :) It was a great day.

I hate online math homework more than anything. We're supposed to find the slope of the tangent line and I can't get it to work. You can "practice another version," but it doesn't tell you what you're doing wrong or explain anything at all. You can only submit an answer five times before they lock it, which usually isn't a problem, but it doesn't tell you the correct answer so how am I supposed to get the second part of the assignment correct if I can't figure out and don't know how to do the first part?!

I just wrote a ten page lab report for my high school chemistry class. The requirement was at least 2..

I HATE ITTTTT like it would be fine if they gave me the problems on paper and I could just go on and type my answer but no. It's soooo confusing! And mine only lets you try twice and if you get it wrong on the second try you get the whole problem wrong. I definitely got a 41% on one of the assignments.... (Good thing it was the first one and didn't count for points)

I had online math homework before. My math labs, if you have that you can have it show you am example for almost every problem. Take notes on how to do it while it shows you what to do. That's the only way I passed my class, because it seriously is like it's own class learning the correct way to input stuff on the site.

The annoying thing is that I know how to do the problems... It's just that if you make one little mistake you're wrong. At least on tests you can get partial credit! And something about math tests on the computer it throws me off... Makes me not want to be all that careful with my work. I agree with @TinyBlondie15 - I HATE MYMATHLAB

Do y'all have my math lab? I despise my math lab, it's like online homework, and for statistics it's even worse.
