Random observations from day 1:

Arena: I hate you and your lack of internet access for my phone!

ECE J5 is my new obsession.

CA Jags point flyer/jumper is FIERCE!

My favorite performer of the day was the little dude on TX Rockstar special needs team!

Spectators: STFU to the NCA reps when you show up at 6pm, 10 minutes before your team goes on and think you're entitled to a seat down front and they inform you, you're not.

If I had a dollar for every time someone kicked, hit or kneed me in the head sitting in the top row of the lower section, I could've paid my admission.

Macs AS, I love you lots and the guy on macs coed who saw the group tumbling pass coming directly at him, you saved your own life getting out of the way of that :)

Stingrays steel: please inform the cbs camera boom to NOT hang out over the left front corner tomorrow, I'm pretty sure angel rice WILL KICK IT OUT in that kick double! Amazing!

Why is there only dr pepper, 7up and RC cola on the arena concourse?!

Large coed and large senior crowd energy was insanity! I felt bad for CAC Midnight who I thought put up their best performance to date but didn't appear to have a large traveling cheering section with them :( I'll yell extra loud for them tomorrow.

New uniforms for Coed Elite and SE looked fantastic on the floor!!

To continue with some of my thoughts from earlier...

I really hate when flyers lean into their double downs, it scares the crap out of me. Ride the pop please.

Apparently, not everyone got Justin's memo about not sacrificing technique for difficulty. Lots of scary skills out there today that should never have left warmup.

I'm tired of hearing the excuse of nerves. I get it, the Arena is intimidating. However, it's March. Worlds is around the corner. If you can't handle the Arena, you sure as heck can't handle the Milkhouse with people sitting on top of you.

If none of you follow @Mamarazzi on twitter, you should. She killed it today with #WheresJenee

The one major thing I need to say about today is: If you don't have a skill, DON'T TRY TO PERFORM IT! For the love of all things holy, don't try to throw a whip dub if you barely have a full. Underrotation will cause a deduction and just looks sloppy on the floor. This goes for stunting too... if you can't keep it in the air, don't do that stunt. I get that a lot of coaches want to put their teams in level 5, but some of the teams I saw today clearly should have been R5 or even level four. It's beyond irritating when people put difficulty over cleanliness and execution, and even though teams are working hard, it's not the best idea to put out a routine that can't be executed effectively. Although the Arena's really intimidating for athletes, especially the first time they compete in it, as @NJ Coach said, it's MARCH. If you're expecting to go to Worlds, now's the time to hit.
/end rant

I can't explain how much I love this comment!
