Yes like 3 people told me! Lol I was like hmm I was wondering who all my blonde FB FB people were.. I wish I would of got to meet you though! :(

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Yeah they were sort of looking at me funny at first, like they weren't sure if they should answer. I told them were are Facebook friends but I'd never actually met you and they told me you had been in there earlier. Sorry I missed you!

That's what I said, can you imagine telling all those little faces, sorry you don't get to take a jacket home with you? Just awful.

But congrats to your CP!!!

Yeah, my daughter's team didn't get theirs. They did give out loaner jackets for pictures but they had to give them back, lol.

The jacket issue with sizes may have been because of the way the jackets ran.

Even if that were the case, one would hope that somebody compared them to previous years and accounted for that. This is NCA. NCA!!!! Probably the most well run competition!

So...what happened to the big gigantic screen from last year? Not sure of the logistics but i think the answer to the overcrowding is to put that monster up on the back side of the mat and people who can't find a seat because they showed up 10 minutes before their team went on can watch it on the screen from behind.

Just a thought. But there were plenty of seats around that side if they can capitalize on it.
I read this facetiously at first, but the idea of it is actually pretty good. But they can't use the big screen for that. They need it for next year to replace that silly fire breathing star. Hopefully one day, NCA can move to a more modern facility like NBA arenas (or DCC can update the arena), where you have jumbotrons, and flat screens all around the concourse with live feeds.

At the end of the day, too many people is too many people. If NCA stays this way, I just hope they don't go the route of Worlds and keep using band-aid fixes to the problem.

Just spoke with a NJSE parent and got the scoop on X5.
So, X has gone back and forth from a Worlds team to a restricted all season long. I think many of us have seen on facebook posts and whatnot that Theapia has NO qualms about leveling her teams, crossing athletes or whatever, however she feels like it depending on the comp and how the team displays their ability to perform. Let's face it, if an inconsistent team decides to be consistent, thats great. Doesn't usually happen like that though.
What she did for NCA (after kids quit or were injured) was allow the opportunity for non-Worlds or non-level-5 athletes to cross to X5 this weekend. She could've easily (not to mention more inexpensively) used Fab 5 athletes to maybe bump up the routine and cross, but she didn't. She gave some young, talented kids a chance to get "the arena experience." Apparently they had a blast too, so I really can't hate on it one bit.
*Disclaimer: I am not part of NJSE, and do not speak on behalf of the program. Simply relaying my take on the situation based on a conversation with my friend.

As I sit back and catch up on some of the post through out the weekend made on here, I've wanted to reply several times but held my tounge back regarding X5. This team as struggled with injuries, fill ins, even the night before Dallas another situation had another fill in added the NIGHT BEFORE flights left Friday morning, size changes due to circumstances, the kids were getting frustrated, they were working hard as a worlds team.
Theapia allowed the girls to vote and used their input when deciding how they would compete at NCA. The rules were followed and they competed 3 times as a lrg restricted prior to NCA. They will be regrouping again making some changes back to a Worlds team, regardless of some of the comments made by some fellow Fierce board members, stating your feelings that they are a boarderline worlds team or saying restricted is their friend..who are you to determine these athletes worth or ability. Just because they came in 3rd doesnt mean they cant contend as a worlds team. The Lrg R5 division was tough. The scores were very close. And no one team could have been picked as a winner or a looser by watching this division! The decision as explained, was to take the pressure off of these girls and just go out and hit and have a greatperformance ( wich they have been doing lately)
These girls have busted out hours of practices and have beaten out some Worlds teams in our area with the competitions we have. The girls know Lrg senior Worlds divison is tough. They know what they are up against. The coaches and parents know too.BUT our girls trust and believe in one another and they know Theapia has their best interest in heart!
Please remember when you are discussing a teams worth or ability that it is very likely that one of their athletes, a child could read what you are writting. Most of the comments came from parents and even one or two in another thread came from coaches, is that the example you want to set for your children and athletes???????
I will say Theapia will never put crap on the floor!!. Our kids will never look a hot mess. And if your so concerned for these girls and feel restricted 5 is were they belong, or you feel the decisions made for this team are wrong, maybe you should send a email to the owner. Everyone is entitled to their thoughts, just remember the kids read these post too. Set a good example. One day it could be your CP team or your athletes being discussed. Stay classy.

Loaner jackets? Well I'm sure that made them feel so much better...not! If you know how many teams/divisions you have, how can you possibly run out of jackets? Sorry this happened to your cp, but congrats on winning!

Thank you! Yeah it was a bummer. They need to hurry up and send them while it's still cold in Texas!

Are they regrouping as a Medium team? I thought I saw them on the schedule for Wildwood this upcoming weekend but was not sure if it was X5 or another team from Spirit Explosion as the team name was not listed.

I bit my tongue on the X5 situation because I knew I would hear something this weekend..Theapia and Spirit are close to my heart and my program, she does our choreography, and we go back and forth NJ & NC for clinics with our gyms..we even got to practice and such with them Friday at NCA. Theapia is a very good decision maker. She would not set her team up to fail. They had some kids who simply couldn't make it to NCA..for instance, one athlete's grandfather was in ICU. So this was a good decision for this team (I feel). If you saw their day one performance..it was evident that they were competing with new kids..but day two they killed it. Very proud of this team and wish nothing but the best for them the rest of the season. :)

That schedule is totally whackadoodle. They have our coed 4 as a coed 3 and our other coed 4 as an all girl 4. Could very well be a mistake and X5 is competing large again.

I've met Theapia, as she choreographed my high school's competition team through Alexa's gym. Anyways she is had the best ideas for our team and one time she even took my idea into consideration and used it :) (I was an alternate.) As said above she would never set a team up to fail. Anyways, I think she would do what's best for her team, whether it's going restricted for a few competitions or competing in a worlds division.

The girls will be going back Large girl Sr 5, starting this weekend, and will start preparing for the rest of their season as such. If anything would change it is only because it is what the coaches of this team feel is in their best interest. I hope everyone enjoys the rest of their season!
Yes the schedule is wacky. Im sure it should be fixed by Friday.lol

My team got sandbagged. :/ we beat the true team in our division though. :(

I'm very sorry you had to deal with a team sandbagging after all of your hard work. But you know, I'd rather be you than an athlete on the sandbagging team. You are able to be proud of your performance knowing you acted with integrity and the other team can't say the same. Because of this your win next year will be even sweeter. And in time the negative aspects of the competition will fade in your memory. I know this firsthand. You'll never regret being classy not trashy.

thanks. it's just hard because I'm a senior, and I'm going off to college...so I'm never going to have an opportunity (unless some crazy incident happens) to compete again at NCA. We did take it with class and even congratulated them while they kind of gave us dirty looks like, "We don't want to talk to you" and it was just a poor representation of sportsmanship. :( we were the first in our division on sunday and we even stood by the stage, cheered for them, and told each team they did great as they got off the stage because we just knew, ya know? knew they were gonna win regardless? but we are always good sports so we made the best of it. it's just hard to swallow because we would've gotten 2nd (or first for that matter) out of like 11 in division C but instead we got 4th out of 5. :/
