I slept on this one before I posted, and was going to ignore it, but I feel the need to defend the teams in this division. I am not looking to pick a fight, and your jr 4 team is REALLY good - I would have put them top 2 if they had hit. But you didn't just have a drop. The entire group also traveled nearly a full panel and missed a skill within the pyramid and there was a stunt bobble in partner stunts. The top 5 teams day 1 all had clean routines that met the score sheet. I can't argue whether you should have been 6-9 after day 1 because I don't remember those teams well enough. Regardless, with the mistakes your team made day 1, I thought their final placing was right where it should have been - right behind the three teams that had solid routines both days. I don't see how you think you should have been ahead of Brandon, CJA and Top Gun in the final results, and I don't think any head judge would see it that way either.

I do not in any way think our team would have gone past Brandon even if we hit both days. They are just that good and I have so much respect for them. CJA did great both days as well! Remember, it's not just about hitting, it's about difficulty, etc. To be 9th with our difficulty is the issue. We were 4th place on Sunday, traveling 5 spots when most of the teams that hit Saturday, hit Sunday.

At UCA, to win, you have to hit both days. Period. And that is how it should be - for sure. I have absolutely no issue with losing, none at all- we did not hit a performance worth winning. I just want to be clear on that.

And I don't believe in saying anything that is untrue.

I'm not doubting your veracity. I'm quite certain that's what all the parents and athletes were told. It wouldn't be the first time a coach claimed a scoring error.

What I am doubting is that the head judge ever said that. If a head judge does find a scoring error, they are going to correct it, especially the first day of a two day comp. I can't comprehend a head judge saying there was an error and they would just look more closely the next day.

Not one single judge that I have ever known would do that.

I hear what you are saying and I hope that this is not the case. With going from 9th to 4th hitting a clean routine on Sunday, to me, shows that the judges gave us the correct values for the areas they killed us in on Saturday (not the drops, but jumps, execution, etc.). I'll never know of course and I have to trust that we were told valid information.

But I do hear you!!

This is kinda random, but after going to UCA and sitting in the milkhouse and seeing how small it actually is, I cannot imagine how they can have Worlds there every year! It felt really small and packed when I was there, and it was only UCA!

I thought the same thing last year at UCA! It's crazy

I know it gets super packed in there for Worlds. I haven't been there (my oldest is on a Sr 5 restricted) but my friends have gone and last year they had to sneak in through the back because it was at maximum capacity and they weren't letting anyone else in! Haha I love it!!!!!!

I said this so many times when we were there. I cannot imagine how crazy it must be!
