This is the kind of or thing that keeps our sport from being respected as a real sport..... Can you imagine qualifying for any other sports big end of the year tournament and saying.... "Wait, We want to go next year instead"???????SMH!!!!!!!:banghead::banghead::banghead:

Exactly why not I let one team decide if they want to play in the Super Bowl or World Series this year if not they get to play the top team next year and the other top 2 teams this year will go to the Super Bowl or World Series makes total sense huh

Soooo...it's been practically the entire season and I'm bumping this thread since my kid still doesn't have a Summit bid. Does anyone know if teams who already have bids (at-large or otherwise) will be eligible to accept bids at Sea to Sky only to defer? I was thinking her team had a good chance (they've actually done pretty well this season), but with the possibility of deferring and so many teams...I'm thinking probably not. There are only 4 bids. :( I should really get over it at this point, but she's so sad...especially with the excitement of other teams at her gym preparing for Florida.

I understand your question but honestly don't know the answer???
I'm actually shocked that your team doesn't have one. From the get-go I thought that team was a shoe-in for one.

Me, too, but there's been a lot of competition at their level and one thing after another has gotten in their way. I'm honestly prepared to book a trip after S2S, so I'm going to be very sad if bids are deferred by teams that are attending this year. (Although I'll be comforted by the stack of money I've set aside ;) ) You wouldn't believe how hard I wished for a paid bid for one of your teams this weekend, with the hope of receiving your passed down bid. Pretty pathetic, I know. Lol!

...when I think about this a bit...teams who have at-large bids are only eligible for PAID bids, right? So, the teams who already have bids should only be able to fight for the paid bid. That should leave 3 at-large bids for the lowly bidless to earn and defer if they so choose.

If u have an at large u r usually bypassed for the same and given to team who does not have one. U can get the FP and upgrade.

My best guess would be yes they can recieve them again and defer them. Ice Queens recieved two bids last year (one for 2013 worlds and one that they deferred to this year). Hopefully I am incorrect and that is not the case though because like you said, there are only 4 bids and quite a few teams that would be willing to fork over the cash to go to this years event. Maybe that is something they will take in to consideration - hand them out first to teams that are willing to go NOW and then if there are leftovers hand them out as deferred.
