Am I The Only One Who Supports The New Uniform Rule?

I don't really care. I don't mind kids in half tops (appropriate ones, some lately have bothered me a bit) but I don't mind full tops either. I've competed in both and they're both fine! Contrary to popular belief you won't die from heat stroke because your uniform covers your stomach.
Minuscule shorts and skirts bother me way more than someone's stomach. But there is a rule about that too, so hopefully skirts start getting longer.

My CP cheered with a 'longer' skirt for the past season and a half, and I hated it, the coaches hated it, the kids hated it. For our last two competitions, we had them perform in their shorts and took out the skirts all together.

As far as the tops go, I'd rather see appropriate sized tops than anything else. If they ride up because it's a size too small, will it be much different? I don't think so.

How long was it? I just mean I don't want to see butt cheeks hanging out of people's skirts.

Will judges deduct for that? Last year our varsity uniforms fit exactly NO ONE, and all their tops rode up even with extra length added. (Some girls wore black tanks under and it looked the same.)

Long, way, way too long. I don't think they meant for them to fit the way they did on the little girl's (the seniors and youth didn't have this issue) but on some of our little's, they hit their knees and had to be rolled and pinned.

That is a good question.

I don't personally care if a child has a half top, but my biggest beef is when it is not sized correctly.

If she is one tumble from a wardrobe malfunction, it's not right.

I've never really been a big half top supporter. I think the young girls should be covered up. Half tops are great for the older girls but I don't want to see a 5 year old in a half top.

There was some special a few years back about a coach who was a former miss USA or miss Texas or someone important and she coached middle school. She had her girls wear full tops & capris. She said without the distraction of pulling your skirt down to cover yourself and making sure you're uniform's not crooked, the kids can bring more focus into the routine and their skills.

Had big problems with my uniform my top was really baggy yet short i was only doing open stunt group level1 but it looked awful rode up and looked like I had a sack on since I have this uni until I finish university in 2 years I'm going to get it altered myself so it fits right

No you are not alone! I actually do not think that a program should have half shirts if it is not attractive on all the kids. Some level 5 girls should not be in half tops and it doesn't look good.

I think it separates the Allstar world from all the other cheer programs out there. Half tops don't sexualize anyone. If they fit properly and are designed correctly. I have issues with teenage girls having their bottoms hanging out of skirts that are way too short. I understand that not all body types fit in a half top but that doesn't stop once you are on a senior team. While I have gotten used to my CP full top, I miss her cute "Allstar" uniform.

Really? I don't think they care if you think they look good or not. Just because their body type is different (aka not tiny) doesn't mean they should have to cover it up. As long as they're confident it doesn't matter. If they're confident in a crop, nobody should care. Nobody has the right to tell anyone else what they should and shouldn't wear. And we wonder why girls have body image issues?

Do you think more issues come from being covered or uncovered?

It's not from being covered or uncovered, it's from people telling them which they should be and how they should look. I think being told you should be covered (but other people shouldn't) causes issues. If girls are uncomfortable being uncovered, they probably already had body image issues before (from years of magazines, tv, etc making them think they have to look a certain way).
Sure, being covered doesn't cause people to be self conscious, and I don't have a problem with it, but nobody should tell them they should be covered because of how they look. Crop tops shouldn't be causing body image issues either if people were only worried about the confidence of the athlete and not their opinion of the athletes body/how it looks.
I don't think cheer itself (or the uniforms) is causing body image issues, it's a societal problem. But I think the cheer world needs to support each other and make sure every athlete feels confident - not tear each other down when the outside world is already sure to do so.

I'm not skinny, like I'm just not lol but if my team wore crop tops, I would as well. It wouldn't bother me at all. I'm not there to walk on a runway with VS ANgels, but for a cheerleading competition.

But- I would feel awful if they made the team wear full tops because they don't like the way I look in a crop.

I have no problem with half tops myself. What I have a problem is that there is no enforcement of the cover up rule. If you're going to say kids need to cover up and I make my cp wear her warm up around even though she'd rather not then they should make sure everyone has to.

I was thinking of this "rule" at US Finals when it seemed that more than 50% of the athletes were walking around in their uniforms, no cover up, and no one caring.
