Who did they announce as Grand Champion prior to the final scores being released? And shouldn't they actually post to apologize and make amends to those affected? Sweeping stuff under the carpet typically makes things worse.

Also--what was the swag gift this year? Last year it was the static electricity pillowcase, but I didn't see anything this year?

Yes, I think they should make a public apology. It was very embarrassing for me, after posting on Facebook that my daughter's team got high point for their level, to have someone post "hey! What about this team?!?" It was HOURS later and never announced publicly that they made a mistake. Our kids received cardigans at like 2pm and it was after 7 (at least) that suddenly they weren't the winners. ATC should make a statement, that parents can understand, to explain their mistakes. Lots of parents are still very confused.

The gift was string bags. I sent you a pm, @piglet. ;)

I know my cp got her string bag but never got the pillowcase from last year..... I hear she wasn't missing much. LOL

I agree with the public apology- leaving it up to the gyms to "fix" the problem is inexcusable.....

My daughter actually LOVES the pillow case. She and most of her teammates bring it to every travel comp. String bag? Eh. Not that she even got one, can't fault ATC for that, though.

After seeing Teacher Mom post in another thread, I was reminded of something. My daughter told me that there was a group of VAS kids next to the stage during their 2nd day performance (the one RIGHT when the Seahawks got the ball with 1min on the clock *cry*). The flyer behind my daughter's stunt is VERY new to cheer. She was a gymnast previously and switched to cheer maybe 3 months ago. She's doing a great job, but is still learning. My daughter heard those athletes cheering for that flyer. She said they verbally lifted her until she was able to hit. Much love to those kids. [emoji173]️ (incidentally, the same thing happened last year at ATC to my daughter with Natural Venom athletes willing her to hit).

I love these types of stories. It is why I love All Star cheer! Thanks for sharing!

That is really so nice to hear as a VAS parent - especially since knowing it was a lot of my CP and her team there.

I'm just glad I remembered to say something! :) I know you all know how much it means to these athletes to have their "rivals" supporting them so much. I hope those kids will hear that my daughter heard them and was grateful. I tweeted it to the gym. I hope it gets passed along. [emoji173]️

I mentioned it to the gym owner last night. We were both so happy to read your comment. I so enjoy when others cheer on their competitors. We need to encourage sportsmanship - we are a community.

Saw this from ATC's FB page as a reply to a reply:

H i there, what you see here is accurate and final. There was a crash in our scoring system mid way through Sunday. The Jr 3 and levels prior were effected. Teams were scrambled and scores were incorrectly summed up. Fortunately were were able to make things right before the competition was over and communicate with the gym owners. In the case that placements changed after awards announcements, we would never take away an award that was already given to athletes. Our policy is to take the proper measures to finishing out the event, and close out everything else after a thorough review... These scores are final scores.

We were shocked. At least half of us weren't on Lady Suns Magswag last year so this is all new. Add the fact that we had 4 injuries in the week prior adding one new permanent team member and 3 alternates and we had no clue how we'd fare. So proud of these amazing athletes!

We're they still missing someone , I thought I counted 19. With everything that they went through they must still still be on cloud 9. Amazing
