I get what you are saying but if we make level 5 the pinnacles, I think it would be fair to charge lower levels less for comps fees then... Same goes for gyms, I know this doesn't happen at every gym but I've heard complains from a few parents about their gyms that the owners and coaches always seem to concentrate more on their level 5 teams then the lower teams, if that's going to take place, then lower level athletes parents should not be paying the same as the level 5.

Don't forget the many Level 5s who don't pay at all...

I get what you are saying too. But let me flip that around- so being at the pinnacle of sport depends on how much you pay?
I don't think she said that at all - actually the opposite. How much you pay depends on if you are at the pinnacle. I can't tell you how many times my cp's had to practice on dead floor while the level 5 team got the spring floor. Or how many times their coaches literally left them to go work with the level 5 team. A large senior 3 (maxed at 32 kids) with one coach, while the 5's had 7 coaches for 20 kids.

Yet we paid the same fees every month... Why?

Same goes for competitions - if level 5 gets better prizes and better floors to perform on, their fee should be higher. It's all fine and good that everyone "pays their dues" - I just don't want to pay your dues!

(and yes, my cp made it to level 5 and got all these perks too, and no I would not have minded if she had had to pay more for it. She was getting more - why wouldn't she pay more?)

I don't know about the majority of you guys but our lvl 5s had a higher gym tuition than all the other levels due to the amount of time in the gym. I think it may have been youth and Lvls 1-2 at the lowest price. Junior and Lvls 3-4 at the middle and senior lvl 5 at the top. Not to mentions the higher cost of practice clothes, competitions, and other various items we payed for. Is that not the norm?

Eta: of course this was now several years ago so that could have changed...

My cp had the same tuition when she was on senior 5 as my younger cp had on youth 1.

(Edited to make this make sense lol)

Our level 3-5 is higher than 1-2 due to a mandatory conditioning tumbling class for those levels. Everyone has the same uniform and practice clothes. Our I5 actually does less comps than all the Other teams so less $ fees for that.

Ours is set up similarly. Younger teams have lower tuition. Senior 5 is highest.

No, but if we are both paying the same fee, I expect to get the same service.

yes, the problem is with your program if this is happening. At many gyms level 5 pays more, has more practice time, higher paid coaches, pays more for the fancy unis, pays more in travel and comp fees. I know several people who think lavel 5 pays the same, gets free unis and travel, and all kinds of perks. Some might but many programs don't

I have to agree with those who mentioned about lvl 5 paying more in gym tuition and even travel fees...I pay more money, but I am not complaining because I see where my money is going, my daughter's team get an average of 3 tumbling instructors during their practices, often the larger practice areas and 3 coaches, plus experts. flying in to teach choreographed routines, dance and pyramids, but what I pay is nothing compare to the premiere teams pay at my gym...

California Allstars here. We. Pay. The. Same. As. Level. 5.

We also get the same coaches and the same tumbling instructor. While our Level 5s definitely get the outside glory, our coaches coach the teams with the same time and intensity.
