Wow. I wonder if everyone at nca stayed using it if it would slow things down.
It may. I last used Uber in Seattle and it was costly but very quick. I thought a cab may have been quicker but I liked the Uber drivers so much and their driving seemed much better. I would probably never use Uber if it were my CP and I alone or even alone. I've only used it in a group.

Another random question...if I get to the arena early and watch some teams but then want to go out to lunch...can I leave my jacket on my seat to hold my spot??? We figured we would watch some early teams, head somewhere local for lunch and then come back for the afternoon teams and for CPs performance...will my stuff still be there or will it be rolled up in a ball on the floor??? LOL

If you're lucky it'll only be rolled up in a ball on the floor!!

Not necessarily a random question but for all you Dallas peeps what's the weather saying for this weekend? We drive down on Friday.

When fortunate enough to win. My CP wears her jacket during red carpet and pictures. And possibly at the airport boarding the plane. Otherwise, it remains in her closet never to be seen. But, you'd think it was made of Gold.

However, numerous times over the years we've been to competition and met bubbly little cheerleaders in the lobby or elevator before competing. Then we've run across them later looking sad because they hadn't won. If we have won, my daughter will give the individual her jacket. My daughter feels like she's been blessed with many jackets in her cheer career and the jacket means so much to the little one that she's happy to share. Excluding NCA or UCA jackets that is. Over the years we always wondered how the little cheerleaders were doing and wondered if they still cheered etc. Then one day my daughter got an email from one of the little cheerleaders. She wanted to tell my daughter that she was now winning competitions and had just had the opportunity to give her winning jacket to a sad little cheerleader that had not been fortunate enough to win. Sometimes it's the little things that make an impression. You just never know.
You have done an amazing job raising your children. This story has really touched my heart!

How much advance notice do you think one would need for an uber ride?

The app will show you the cars in your area, and give you estimates of how long you should expect your wait to be. You can then observe your car's progress. In Atlanta we usually had a projected arrival within 5-6 minutes, but due to heavy traffic we'd watch that car on the screen literally stuck at intersections on its way to us. I don't think traffic will be as bad in Dallas, but with the messy weather expected this weekend, demand will likely be high. I'd allow an extra cushion of 10-15 minutes until you see what the patterns are.

Bring your jackets! Here in California, the weather man is saying, "If your plans include flying into Dallas tomorrow (Wednesday), then prepare for your plans to change, because planes might not be landing due to snow and ice."

Not what anyone wants to hear.

This makes me lol so hard. After you spend the weekend at NCA you will know why!
P.S. the answer is your stuff may still be there, but your seat won't be!

"You are only responsible for being honest, not for someone else's reaction to your honesty."

I've noticed that the spectator packet has no mention of artificial noise makers this year. The lack of air horns etc was always one of my favorite parts of the NCA experience. I guess that's a thing of the past

Thank you. She is a good kid and very considerate of others.

Do you know I'm still not sure who you are! lol But I think I know who your daughter is and from what I've seen at the gym she really is one of the sweetest girls. Always smiling and loving up on her friends.

Does anyone know what time they'll start selling wristbands on Friday? The spectator packet doesn't list a time they'll start selling them, it just says "NCA will begin selling them during registrations on Friday", but I don't know what time registrations begin.

Any coaches or owners out there that might have that info?

I'm heading downtown Fri morning to drop my CP's friend off at her hotel and meet up with some friends and then I was going to swing by and buy the wristbands. I just don't want to go over there to buy them too early and have it not be open yet.
