RUMOR ALERT! Friday night a rumor swept through our gym of J5 being allowed to return to Worlds next year. Something about not actually 'competing' at Worlds but in some sort of division that represents the future of worlds teams? Maybe like an exhibition? Honestly I don't know. I was trying to get information from excited 10-14 year olds that I think had no clue either.

Does anyone have an verifiable information on this or have these whispering's reached your gym as well?

Thanks!

@Andre ??? Or Les Stella, if he's on here?

I really liked when J5 went to worlds. That being said, do not make J5 parents spend money to go to worlds on exhibition and then have them compete at summit the next weekend. Give the parents a reprieve. And if it is exhibition, will bids not be given out for those team?

I think that varsity should be stricter on who goes to worlds. Like, they shouldn't have worlds bids be handed out left and right at competitions. Some level 5's aren't true level 5's and they compete at worlds. There are some junior 5 teams like world cup starlites and jersey all stars wicked that are amazing and better then 70% of some senior 5 teams...

So, if a junior 5 team is amazing they deserve to compete at worlds and just not attend the summit.

You know @CindyLou22 I heard the same talk from aging out Y5 athletes yesterday after Twinkles practice... Tbh, I hope this is a true rumor, it may convince them to stick around for J5... I think too many J5 athletes are in that loophole and many if can will choose to want Worlds instead of Summit... I know for my daughter, she is not at all excited about Summit competition, but when she heard about the possibility of Worlds, she perked up and was actually thinking about coming back next year instead of playing basketball. Alright now!!!
