Depends on what you're looking for. The best gym to my kid may not be the best fit for your daughter.

Where does she currently take tumbling classes and was she at a local gym previously or was that in a different state or town?

**Happy New Year everyone**

Depends on where you live, what you are looking for, and how far you are willing to drive. There are lots and lots of gyms and the DFW area and, according to them, they are all the best;) We have been involved in all star cheer in the DFW area for 10 years. There's a pretty good chance that, if I don't know something about a particular program, I probably know someone who does..

Spirit of Texas (Arlington & Coppell) & Cheer Athletics (Plano & Frisco) are the 2 biggest and most well known gyms in the Dallas area, but as mentioned above many to choose from. We are at SOT & love it! Feel free to message me, if you have any questions about SOT.

That's a loaded question because you can throw a rock in DFW and hit 3 gyms. SOT and CA is by far the largest but both have vastly different coaching styles. There is also Champion, that is large much more family oriented. Excite, Liberty, Mavericks, United, Rebel Yell, Cheer Texas, Spirit Xtreme (love love love this gym)...and that is just a few.

DFW is a big area, what part of DFW are you looking? What are you looking for in a gym?

Ditto the others....really depends what you are looking for. Chances are if there is a gym you want to know about I know somebody there or we have seen them, I'd be happy to chat by PM. We have been here a while ha. I will say that CA seems to be the biggest in the Dallas area and Plano and Frisco are BOTH doing well this yr. Frisco is smaller for sure with a little more of a small gym feel with a big gym name, so if coming from a small gym it could be more comfortable fit for some.

I know this is an older thread. But can you share more info about Spirit of Texas? Is it a pretty diverse team? Do the parents run the team or the gym? Lol! My daughter is on a Level 3 team coming from Phoenix and we know nothing about the area. Nervous as heck and just want to be accepted

They are absolutely wonderful. My daughter cheered their last season and they treated her like family. It is definitely ran by the gym. LOL Feel free to PM me.

@Tee Mac what kind of coach or program does your cp respond best to? Intense, low key, high stress.....

She's quite competitive and strong willed,So any coaching style will do. However, I do want her to still have fun and not be so serious all the time. Healthy balance

We moved from Phoenix in 2009 and went to both SOT and CA.
SOT takes every level seriously, even their minis put in work. They are tough but fair, they expect you to give 100% and if you threw a tuck at tryouts, you better keep throwing it.
CA has a motto of "hugs and high fives", the intensity grows as the level gets higher. It can be a little much with all of the "Plano moms" but from what I've heard they have done a lot to curb the crazy expensive team gifts some teams used to do.
Both gyms will be overwhelming coming from AZ, even compared to Desert Storm they are a whole other level. if you want a more small gym feel I would suggest Spirit Xtreme. Their lower levels are amazing and since they don't have any level 5 teams there is none of the World team craziness. They tend to feed into SOT when kids move to worlds level.

We are with Express Cheer out of Frisco TX and love it there! The coaches are great with the kids hard, firm when needed and fun when they can ;)

We are at Spirit of Texas and we absolutely love it! My oldest daughter absolutely loves it and my youngest has had an explosion of "coming into her own" at this gym. Its a large gym with a small famiy atmosphere feel!
