I know it's not the "real" tournament but Ga Tech is in the NIT final!

ETA: If our women win tonight, we'll have both men and women in the finals :)

ETA2: The women won so men and women both in the final!!

OMGGG Uconn lost by 2. Holy poo holy poo. I left the room the last 20 seconds. Omg the little baby with that jumper.

I'm really glad UConn finally lost (certainly not from a hater standpoint but from the stand point of I like competitive basketball)

But I really don't want to play Mississippi State for the championship [emoji30]

UConn was unbeatable in my mind. So much respect for Mississippi State, and to Williams for making the last defensive and offensive plays of the game. I'd rather our women play them than UConn but either team are going to be very tough to beat. I'm just hoping Mississippi State is gassed from last night.

UConn has been beatable all season...someone just needed to do it (Tulane and FSU were close; Carolina, ND and Baylor "only" lost by 11). Their loss was certainly was always a possibility this season, but dangit I just definitely didn't want it to come for Mississippi State. I just know those girls will be so fired up and confident going in to Sunday. They've played us with and without Alaina....

I was at CLA and in Bon Secours both times Carolina played them. Carolina literally won because of the atmosphere. MSU is GOOD l. I'm shook. I home Gamecock nation is out in full force in Dallas because this will be a nail biter.

I really want a Championship or two to come back to Columbia. This weekend is going to give me gray hair

Im kinda thankful that SC and Syracuse basically Freaky Friday-ed eachother this year. Its amazing to see your own team go far but its also emotionally and physically exhausting. Especially when its like one close game after another... then multiply it by two for both teams. (Obviously I'd chose winning championships over being a nutcase for a few weeks but it takes a toll.) I dont think I'd be able to handle that this year.

Anyways, I woke up this morning, opened reddit to find the UCONN loss at the top of the homepage, and was like ".....ok wheres the April Fools announcement." Crazy. Good for them, I feel like balance has been restored in WBB for the time being. That will be a moment those girls will never forget.

And the only downside to all of this SC basketball awesomeness is that you learn how hard it is to practice for NCA when your teams are in the Final Four!

I've been wondering how they handled this. NCA is next weekend right? I assumed that maybe the cheerleaders that didn't make the mat traveled for NCAA? Is that not the case?

Not the case and personally I would be disappointed if those who made mat didn't get the opportunity to experience those games - especially the seniors! Hopefully it's a "problem" they will face every year.

(Yeah I would be too, but because I enjoyed cheering games more than competing ‍♀️)

But I still can't imagine having a portion of the team missing practice with the possibility of playing Monday night for a championship and then leaving for NCA mid week (I assume. We left on a Tuesday or Wednesday back in the day)

Good problem to have but certainly not a "fun" one
