I think the OO5 conversation can be retired until after Worlds when/or if they actually do the reveal.

But this Spirit of Texas A-Team uniform... deserves more conversation. Maybe it looks better in person or on stage??? I do love the colors and all the bling. The big "A' reminds me of the Scarlet Letter.

If the uniform was backwards I'd like it a lot more. Personally I feel like anyway they would have tried to put a sole A on the uni would have looked off.
It's like when odyssey put an O on the front of their uni. It looked odd at first and most people didn't like the look. Odyssey uniform has grown on me though.

I think A Team's looks poorly made. The A looks slightly tacky and stuck on.

Fill in the bizzare arm cutouts and make the A look like it's meant to be there and you've got a nice enough uni

(And the choker; but that's just because I personally don't like them)

Literally this times a thousand (although I like chokers so eh that part doesn't bother me). The sleeve cut-outs are the most hideous thing to me for some reason, and the weird A that goes above the uniform with two super thin straps? What?

I'm so upset because SoT always has my absolute favorite uniforms and then they came out with this....thing.

I have a teenage daughter and I don't get the over reaction. I really dont see how just because her daughter isn't a teenager makes her views on this topic invalid.
My daughter is 17 and I honestly wouldn't have a problem with her wearing this uniform. I don't see it as " look at me I'm ripping my top off so you can look at my bra" I just look at it like it's a surprise element to show the team name and it's just part of the uniform.
It doesn't. It does change how I view what she's saying though. Having a kid who is subject to all this does change your perspective on it. You are also entitled to your opinion on this. 17 is also a lot different from a young teen. There is a potential for just turned 14 year olds to be wearing this.

No, there isn't a teen girl out there that isn't going to notice this. A little kid might jot, but my 13 year old certainly would, but wouldn't have the maturity to realize that the cheerleaders she idolizes are doing something that cheapens them a women, and objectifies them even further.

I refuse to stop giving my kid guidance about what she sees based on making her "want to do it more" that ridiculous.

Do you have kids? I don't as to be disrespectful or dismissive, but before I had CP, I thought much like you. Having a teenage girl who is exposed to this stuff changes your perspective.

speaking as a teen girl, I didn't once think that this uniform was sexual or inappropriate until parents started bringing it up. I think the real problem comes not from the uniforms themselves, but from people seeing something and immediately assuming that it's sexual! if a teen girl in a sports bra makes you uncomfortable, then stop viewing teen girl's bodies purely as sexual objects, and realize that these are young adults who are capable of making decisions for themselves.

yes, people sexualizing young girls is a huge problem, but it's those people that are the problem! not the girls in the uniform, the coaches, the uniform company, or anyone else! if we are truly concerned about the welfare of children in this sport, let's address the actual issue, instead of being outraged over what is essentially a costume for a stage performance.

Yes yes and yes to this.

You don't get it. Even if you aren't consciously processing it that way, the message is there and those messages add up. Of course you, as a teen, aren't going to purposely view it that way. In fact, the idea that you don't see what's wrong with it proves my point in a way. Many teens have been desensitized because they have seen this stuff so repeatedly. They no longer see it as an issue.

I am definitely not uncomfortable with a girl in a sports bra, as I have REPEATEDLY said. This isn't walking around the gym in a sports bra, or even competing in one. It's about their actions as much as what they are wearing. As someone said upthread, if this was really about a "superhero" theme and the boys uni did it too, it wouldn't be a problem. But that's NOT what this is.
