I am usually a scrooge with money because I am on a tight budget, but I would love for my CP to go. It looks like an incredible competition. She is on an IOC 5 so not a possibility. :(

Your digs against M5 are getting old...... it's a new season, your team is in a new division. Move on.
Wow You are too much. I don't know why you think I don't like them. If you look at my history you can see I've been nothing but wowed by their talent. There is no need to be so snarky. All I said was I can't believe a team would turn down the Majors. I don't even know that they were invited so why would you take that so personally?

If I am hearing correctly (and this is just through the cheer rumor mill at this point) CA black ops turned down the invite this year.

I get the fact that the age grid changed and now there are many athletes on Open teams that normally would be on regular senior teams, but coming from the other side - it is really unfair to expect college kids to commit to that type of competition, and the Open team was originally meant for the older athletes. There has already been a huge increase in the travel and expense of Open teams across the board. I think it is becoming a challenge to juggle the age range and related varying expectations of competition for the Open teams - middle school and high school kids who are in their peak youth sports age are now included on teams with adults who have graduated college. My CP has been "priced out" of even the open division, and several of her friends and former teammates are in the same situation.

:shimmy::shimmy::shimmy::shimmy::shimmy::shimmy:

Worlds is super expensive + Training fees + Clothing packages + Extra costs that always appear last min.
I would love to keep cheering, but my fresh-out-of-university job, doesn't have a salary to support it... And I am fortunate enough to have found a job right out of school.

Money is not the only factor in this decision to not cheer, but it definitely plays an importance

Our team has few college age athletes on it. Majority are between 14 and 18. We have focused on International because it is noticeably less expensive, less competitions, less travel, etc. Wishing for Majors is just a fun dream, that I know won't happen. I agree with you , get it, and don't wish to put financial burdens on anyone.

It is usually a combination of placements throughout the previous season and sometimes prior to that as well coupled with previous year Worlds ranking. Majors made an annoucement a few days before the All-Girl Announcement that if a team declined their invitation they would invite the next team in line. So it is quite possible that Bombshells were invited and declined, which I would assume passed the invitation to Lady Jags. I am not connected to the Majors at all so this isnt anything I know just guessing how it could have worked. Peach won Majors last year so I would think that gets them an invite, A Team was the silver medalist and have had quite a few consecutive succesful seasons so that would get them the next invite, and Lady Jags being bronze last season would put them in line next if Bombshells declined.

i thought that LJ got the invite last year for winning Jamfest?? or did i completely make that up lol
