okay so basically i'm not going to be cheering or tumbling anymore in high school unless you guys can help me. I'm not doing hs sideline cheer because it's strictly dancing, which I don't enjoy. I can't be an allstar cheerleader because the closest lvl five team to me is two hours away. My last hope would be power tumbling, but for my level, I'd be doing it five days a week for three hours, not to mention that the gym is an hour away from my house, and neither of my parents is willing to drive me. I feel lost without cheer and tumbling and I really need help generating solutions.

Firstly, you're new here so I just want to let you know that this kind of discussion doesn't necessarily fall under the "cheer industry". You might find more help in the All Star thread, or even the newbie thread.

Secondly, if commute times are difficult for you and your family and cheer is something you cannot live without, you could consider competing at the highest level for the gym close to you (not level 5), and do private tumbling classes to maintain your skill. There is also the option for carpools. Ultimately, if you are relying on your parents for transportation, I think this is a conversation you need to have with them. There is nothing we on the boards can really do to help.

Good Luck.

You CAN still be an all star cheerleader. Even if you have level 5 skills, you don't HAVE to be on a level 5 team. You can cheer with a lower level team closer to home and maintain skills in tumbling class.

I had a teammate at my old gym who had a couple level 5 skills & the only senior team we had was senior 2 (we were level 3 but dropped down to level 2). She did an individual. Ask if you can do one as well?
