Not being b****y, serious question. I learned about them from their TV show and just assumed they were good because of that. I liked the husband/wife coaching team and their daughters were super talented. But then I sort of got the impression they weren’t that good. And now when I look for them in youth/junior results they’re always pretty low. And they never seem to make an appearance in the senior divisions... do they even offer those teams?

Anyway, just bored and curious. I was sad when their show was cancelled amid all the accusations (and convictions)

I know just from following Worlds that they did have a Worlds team that went to prelims at one point in the last few years. I have no clue what teams they have this season. I want to say that they have had some successes at the lower levels as well (ex: a Tiny or Mini team has done well at NCA.)

I don’t know if they were ever really good. I think the reason they got that show was because the connection to toddlers and tiaras and the gym.

The gym is middle of the road from the videos I've seen over the years but all of the daughters, (who I wont name because I think they are all still under 18?), are all phenomenally talented tumblers and the oldest has a shot at some really great schools next year from the clinics I've seen her photographed attending on insta. She still pops up on my discover page every once in awhile and I've always enjoyed following her family since the T&T days.

Their Tiny team came second to stingrays at nca a while back.
They had their y3 and sr5 at summit laat seaaon, youth ended up 7/7 and sr5 went 3/3 .
That y3 was very young though as it had some of the aged out Tiny athletes with intermediate/advanced tumbling on it,they were 6/7 at the start of the seaaon. If they have it again, they could go another round.

Saw a video from a j2 awhile back,it looked sloppy.
I feel that if they cleaned up their technique and transitions they would be placing higher.

They did have a choreographer come in though,so i figure he would emphasize that as well.

They also added a T&Tside to their gym. Those kids have been successful, winning meets, they had a boy win a state or national meet

Based off of Navarro Cheer’s Instagram, it appears that the oldest daughter will be there next year.

and i off their site: Navarro College Cheer | Navarro Cheer Tryouts

..they aren't known for rule following at Navarro... so idk how stringent their tryout has to be lol

Yeah... but I have seen a few other cheer teams take “commits” while also having regular tryouts. (CBU comes to mind?) Is it becoming a thing in college cheer to start recruiting and committing? Plus I’ve seen some “recruitment combines” advertised by some decent programs.

ETA: I use the terms “commitment” and “recruitment” lightly since cheerleading is not an NCAA recognized collegiate sport and I have no idea what is going on behind the scenes (i.e., the legality of the papers signed, scholarships offered, etc.) But this is something I’ve seen more than once or twice.

It’s really early for a senior to have even committed to a college at all. Many haven’t even sent out acceptances yet.

Nothing is official until signing, but it is common for kids to get recruited and get a verbal commitment by junior year. I've known kids with verbal commitments in 9th grade. This is for other sports though, not cheer.

Ultimately you have to be "accepted" by the school, but if you've been recruited, that's a formality. I've been told (by parents whose kids were recruited and signed) that in college, it's the cumulative team GPA that counts. So very talented kids will be accepted even with lower grades because there are also less talented but higher academic achievers that average out the team GPA. So if a coach wants a kid, they have leeway to get them accepted.
