We've done this thread in the past and it's always pretty helpful for gift ideas. Share your age (if you're comfortable) and what you're hoping to get this year! Also what your CP is asking for.

I'm fresh out of ideas for my mom, dad and three siblings (17,16 and 14) so let's hear it.

I'm 27 and hoping for an Apple Watch 4, but I'll probably just end up with money and purchasing it myself, which works too :shaka:

I’m 25 and I’m getting my master’s (finishing up in May) in counseling. I asked for clothes (as always), yoga stuff (wheel, wrist/knee pads, socks, bolster, blanket), some theory books for counseling that I am interested in because they’ll make me a better counselor (I am so boring), books for fun (Girl, Wash Your Face and Dare to Lead), and hair scrunchies.

This year, we got our parents photo albums of our professional wedding photos that we made on Shutterfly. We personalized them for each family.

Husband is 26! He loves golf, fishing, and smoking barbecue so his list revolves around those hobbies. I got him an insulated blanket thing for our Traeger so that he can smoke when it’s cold outside. He also asked for the folding tray for the Traeger, some crank baits for fishing, a new fishing pole, a fairway wood (golf), and new vokey wedges (golf).

We always get our grandparents a gift card. My husband gets his grandparents a movie gift card and makes a little movie gift basket and I get mine a restaurant gift card.

I got my sister (23) a necklace with her son’s birthday engraved on it in Roman numerals.

We got my nephew (2 months) an activity “gym” that will grow with him over the next few years and transform to his developmental needs/level. We also got him a little bathtime fishing set. He is too little for it now but it was too cute to pass up. We also got him a little cube that has some different sensory things on each side.

Last year, I got my mom (50) some sweaters from express and we (husband and I) gave her an express gift card. I got my dad (52) some golf balls. I got my stepmom (48) some jammies from target with some fuzzy socks (she loves these and needed new jammies) and we got her and my dad a gift card for a restaurant and Sheridan’s.

I'm 29. I asked for gift cards to Hot Topic, Charlotte Russe, or AMC, Meddling Kids book, and Harry Potter stuff. Also anytime I see something in a store I want, I send a picture to DH lol.

DH (33) asked for a bunch of video games and he likes a lot of gamer and nerdy things. I am getting him Assassin's Creed Odyssey, a Spiderman drone, a Star Wars book, Attack on Titan shirt, Bob Ross Deadpool Funko Pop, and stocking stuff.

CP (8) asked for LOL dolls, Pikmi pops, Hatchimals big or small, arts and crafts stuff, dresses, high heels, and a tablet, lol. I am getting her Jojo bows, a few DC Super Hero Girls sets, a Crayola crayon factory, a Pomsie, Hatchimals Twins, and stocking stuff.

Non-CP (4) asked for the Paw Patrol characters he is missing (three of them), dinosaurs, legos, and a Feisty pet. I am getting him two Dino Fingerlings, a remote control Lightning McQueen, a Lego head storage box, Power Rangers and Incredibles legos, Pete the Cat game, playdoh set, and stocking stuff.

For my dad and stepmom we are giving them a few 8x10 framed pictures of the kids. Also sending DH's mom framed pictures. For my mom, I found this cool website (Prints Charming) that puts sheet music over a watercolor picture. The one I got her is a picture of Mary Poppins flying with her umbrella and the song is Feed The Birds.

My brothers (9, 14, 18, 18) are getting tshirts, and two of them who are flying in from Alaska are also getting board games.

My sister (23) is getting unicorn horn makeup brushes from Claire's, and my brother's girlfriend (19) is getting the Beetlejuice Eye Palette from Hot Topic.

My niece (1.5) is getting mermaid Vans. CP is also getting matching Vans.

We like to go all out here, but I know we're not the worst. There's a mom in the UK who bought each of her three kids 100 presents!

im 24, and am asking for sewing related stuff since its a hobby that i picked up last year to keep the tradition that my grandma started alive. Will be getting sewing patterns for me ( as i buy a lot of children patterns, so i can sew for a sweet little girl).
As well as some cute fabrics that i really want.

Boyfriend will be getting harry potter lego, since he has recently discovered it and likes to put it together and show it off.

In-laws as well as sisters in law + hubbies are getting alcoholic beverages that they enjoy.

I'm a mom in my 40's. I want a weighted blanket, a huge whiteboard wall calendar (the kind I see in schools with every day of the entire year big enough to write on. They are big, maybe 6x4) and I would like a Lily Pulitzer umbrella. None of these are easy to find and no one will ever guess that I want them. So I'll probably buy them for myself.

I don't know what my teenage children want. They haven't given me a list yet. If they don't tell me I will give them $. If they give me a list of actual items to purchase I will spend more $ so it is in their best interests to give me a list.

I think I'm getting my husband a Patagonia pullover and maybe some other shirts. He likes clothes from surf shops.

I got my niece (13) UGGs and a shirt from the Equal Justice Initiative....I also bought her a full (private’s.....multiple ones a week....all year) so she better leave me alone.

I got my older sister (3?) a weighted blanket, 10 for $35 underwear from VS and a shirt from the Equal Justice Initiative

I got my younger sister (2?) a $60 Trader Joe’s gift card, the 10 for $35 underwear and a shirt from EJI

Got my mom a FitBit Versa.

Got myself an Apple Watch.

That’s just what I managed to get out of the way in November/Black Friday/Cyber Monday

Everyone else I’ll shop for when school lets out for break.

I personally don’t have a list, I let people get me what they get me, in turn I straight up buy people what they need.

My family isn't big on gifts for adults so I'll probably get nothing but Im fine with just a good family dinner. Since I missed Christmas last year due to a overseas deployment Im getting my family gifts.

My sister (36): Apple Watch
Nephew (19) : My 2017 Chevy Malibu. He will take over the car note but Im going to be generous and pay a few notes/insurance for him.
Mom wants a brahmin bag (we got her a purse and wallet for Mothers Day)
Dad ( A cross he has been asking for)
Grandmother: We are buying her a stove collectedly
Fiance (33): A new motorcycle helmet and Harley Davidson gift card.
Future stepdaughters: I have no idea yet but we are taking them to Disney this summer.

ME: AirPods( since they walked away apparently), office decor for my new office, a Kate Spade watch that I love, a new pair or two of the Tieks ballet flats, and a new Chevy Terrain!!!!

My older cp (13) wants a new phone (we will see about that) and clothes. Younger cp (7) is easier American Girl doll, water color painting set, Shopkins, squishies and a bunch of other plastic stuff...

Question though, what is the weighted blanket and what is the purpose? I am not familiar with it at all!

Weighted blankets and vests are often used to help anxiety in kids on the autism spectrum. So they have therapeutic uses. I've heard that it mimics a hug, or the comfort of being in the womb. Have you ever seen your dog bury itself under a lot of covers, or enjoy the space of its crate even when the door is open? Animals seek that comfort as well.

For me though, I don't need it for therapeutic reasons. I just prefer sleeping under weight. I think I have 4 or 5 blankets on my bed right now and I keep my room very cold when I sleep year round so that I can sleep with blankets. I have a hard time sleeping in hotels in warm climates where there is just a thin sheet or blanket to cover me.

Here's a 'test' to see if you may like a weighted blanket. When you get x rays at the dentist, do you feel claustrophobic when they put the leaded apron on you? Or do you get a sense of calm? A weighted blanket would not be that heavy, but it gives you a similar idea. Do you wrap yourself up in blankets in the winter? Or do you wear shorts and a t shirt and turn up the heat?

Godson, 6: Fingerlings Dinosaur Jailbreak set and the Pop-up Dinosaur encyclopedia (which is awesome in person, highly recommend)

Goddaughter, 4: Scruff-a-luv mystery pet? and two books for her

I also usually do a couple movie theater ticket gift cards for the kids, too

Sister, 31, travels worldwide 24/7: Some monogrammed leather travel stuff from Mark and Graham. They had some awesome black friday deals!

Aunt/Uncle: beautiful Scrabble set from Pottery Barn and official Scrabble dictionary

Grandmother, 87: Gift set from David's Tea

Grandfather, 89: Costco and Wendy's gift card (that's what he asked for lol)

Dad: Jameson Irish Whiskey Trilogy Collection, probably a book or two once he gives me his list

Mom: Always the hardest for me, so far got her a Wellness tea set from David's tea, a gourmet popcorn seasoning/kernel set (she LOVES making popcorn at home lol) and my dog got her a pair of slippers because he steals one slipper from each pair she owns and we can never find them lol still working on the rest of her gift. Maybe just a Marshall's gift card because that's all she ever asks for, I just try to give an actual gift, too.

Secretaries/front desk staff at work: Ulta gift cards with little mini Popcornopolis cones

Pilates instructor: David's Tea ornament gifts

I'm 28 and I asked for...

-Vans
-Levi's mom jeans
-Chunky sweaters

-Loads of leggings and athleisure attire. I'm obsessed with the Core 10 leggings from Amazon.
-Home decor (boxwood wreath, duvet cover, fur blanket, misc. home accessories)

My husband is 30 and he asked for...
-Leather briefcase
-New dress belt
-Cologne (there's a Versace one we both love)
-Wool socks

Last year I asked for a couple 10-15ft, heavy duty charging cables for my phone from Amazon. Sounds super weird but they are honest-to-god life changing and come in clutch when traveling - especially when you're in airports or hotels and the outlets are in weird places.

Just thought I'd throw that out there for you and anyone who knows anyone who spends a lot of time traveling. *Cough cough all the cheer parents*

I tried my sister' weighted blanket when I was home for Thanksgiving and did not enjoy it. But I also move a lot in my sleep and am constantly moving the covers off and on, plus I hate being hot when I sleep. Not for me, but I can see the appeal of it for some people.

thank you! I think one of my daughters would love that.
