I have a white jacket that i won during high school nationals way back in the day. I was terrified of wearing it because it was white and i was afraid i would ruin it. I could count on one hand how many times ive worn it out in public. but it still hangs on a hanger in my closet to this day 15 years later....
i honestly would rather have a medal or jacket then a ring, i can barely keep track of my wedding ring half the time....

I still have all my UCA London New Year’s stuff!!! I literally don’t think I’ve worn it inside the US. But I love it even though the design was ugly as sin back then.

Sweden has two bronze medals [emoji6] not that it makes a difference, I'm just really proud [emoji56]

I am aware that Cali has gyms in other states that have medalled. I just don't know how many of each type - so not sure how many to count under "California" the state.

Finding out 4-5 seconds early isn't a big deal IMO.

LOL. Right. I think the only people who really noticed were us watching from home. I highly doubt the athletes/their parents/friends/people actually in the arena notice. (they probably are not even thinking about the cameras.)

My stream was lagging behind so I could see the team celebrating in the smaller box before the announcer actually announced it.

We notice it, but it is just a more enjoyable experience to listen to the announcer than to try to gauge probabilities based on where the camera is pointed.

Remember when I think we figured out that you could predict/spoil the winner (prior to the announcement) by looking at WHERE THE VIDEO GUY WAS SITUATED DURING AWARDS? (Ex: The announcer had barely read out the #2 team and camera guy was already hovering over TGLJ's circle.) Could have been NCA but I also feel like it was Worlds.

I did not see that this year? Were there no video/TV people on the mat?
I noticed it with midnight. Knew they were gonna win cause there was 1 camera man and he was pointing the camera into the middle of their circle

I think the camera men try to be a little more stealthy when filming the top two now a days. I remember when SE won in 2012 they had like 3 cameras on them right before they announced second who only had 1

I always loved how in gymnastics you recive score immediately. I wonder how this would go in cheerleading. You come off the mat and wait for you score and your placement. And then you have only top 3 teams at awards where they recive a medal and each team have their special moment.
I’ve always preferred this over anything else.

Some people argue, “... but what if a coach challenges a deduction or some other component of the score? Placements would shift.”

This happens ALL. THE. TIME. in gymnastics, inquiries are sent in so often to change gymnasts’ scores. I will never forget the drama that was London 2012 Men’s Team Final, now that was dramatic.

The year when both Blink and Wildcats made it through to finals (the last year USASF/IASF did the whole score announcement thing), IASF should’ve just let the coaches of Blink know Wildcats score had been raised and Blink won’t be making the finals. Again, stuff like this happens in gymnastics all the time... people get bumped out the finals because D-scores are challenged and raised.

I mean, its probably about time someone takes a hard stand on the insanity that USASF/IASF puts teams through. Look at what happened in International Global 5 with the whole "who's in third" thing.

They need to figure out their processes ASAP. It's ridiculous that they follow their own rules, but only sometimes. They institute a curfew, then run an event that goes past that curfew.

It's also ridiculous that the ability to make decisions about who goes to finals lies with ONE person. That is crazy.

This Worlds proved that, no matter how much the sport may want it, we're not capable or ready to be an Olympic sport. At all.
