All-Star New Level Crossover Question

Our coach has informed us that our level 4 team can no longer have world's crossovers on it.

So I take it that the rule is still in effect. Meaning only one level down for World's athletes. Level 6 [emoji3591] Level 5, Level 5 [emoji3591] Level 4.

This is incorrect. Per varsity on our Summit page, Level 6 can go to Level 5 or 4 for Summit

Allegedly he asked varsity specific question regarding D2 Summit ... And he is saying that the rep informed him that they would be allowed to cross down to lvl 4 from the new lvl 6. However I have read very different replies across forums and groups.

It's tryout season..why is it taking varsity so long to update the D1/D2 rules on the website...gyms need to know these rules when establishing teams.

Varsity updated the Summit coaches page a few weeks ago. The online site hasn’t been updated yet, but coaches are directed to the people who run summit for those specific questions until the FAQ is up

Our owners are insistent that the rules have not been updated and everything is hearsay. As it stands now, rules still state only one level crossing

I would have them refer to the post made by Damianne Albee on the Summit coaches page where she wrote that level 6 (worlds) can cross to 4 and 5 at Summit. Damianne is the person in charge of Summit questions at Varsity. I believe I posted a screen shot of her response on another thread. The current rules shown on the FAQ online have not been updated yet so Damianne posted in our group once she got the question.

I never realized 6 could crossover to 7 at NCA Nationals.

* Formerly 5 to 6 (still getting use to name changes)

I don't believe you could.

All that really changed were the names of the levels. And the ability for L7 to cross to L6.

This policy makes so much sense to me. Wish Summit, and frankly all competitions did the same. With so many levels, sizes, age groups etc. it is just hard to see the need for the volume of crossing over we see.

In regards to cross overs at NCA, what if your NCA team is a “travel team”, and your other team you’re on isn’t going to NCA. For example, your on senior 2 and IO5, but only the senior 2 team is going to NCA. Is that allowed?

Yes. It’s only in regards to the teams that are actually going to NCA.
