Question Gym Put My Child On A Team She Is To Old For For

It's an all star gym. My daughter just turned 17 at the end of July and the gym put her on a junior 2 team with girls a lot younger and skills a lot lower. I didn't realize when I put her in this gym all the older girls and some coaches switched teams until a month ago. I visited another gym and was told my daughter is to old for her old team and couldn't complete with them anyway because of her age. Now I'm out almost 1,000 and I'm afraid the old gym will sue me for the rest of the year fees. I paid 3 months and most of the fixed fees. Does anyone know if I can be sued and if I can even recover the lost money? We aren't rich and I can't afford to pay 2 gym fees. A lot of the money was paid with sponsorship money from local business because my daughter had AML Leukemia a few years ago. It would break my heart if I have to tell her she can't be on a cheer team because I joined the wrong gym.
